Pete Carroll can call his old buddy, the corpse that is Ted Kennedy, kind of like the dead guy from weekend at Bernie's. and get this all taken care of in 5 minutes.

This will probably earn them even more playing time. The coaches over there like to have players "on edge".

There once was a Trojan in Nantucket
A booster gave him cash in a bucket.

When will Pete Carroll get caught
Because of the players he bought?

The NCAA should tell USC to suck it.

(July 9, 2009) Two University of Southern California football players are making national headlines after they were arrested on Nantucket over the Fourth of July weekend during a house party on Morgan Square.

Everson Griffen, 21, the Trojans' defensive end, and linebacker Jordan Campbell, 21, were busted at 2 Morgan Square on July 4 along with three others, and charged with a noise violation/breach of peace.

According to a police report about the incident, officers received numerous noise complaints from neighbors in the area and as they approached the home to respond, they could "clearly hear loud music, screaming, yelling and chanting of 'USA, USA'."

Griffen was observed by police yelling "Get in the house. The cops are here," and "Everyone in!" according to the report. Police estimated the crowd to be several hundred people.

As police approached the home, they described a stampede, as people attempted to exit, "pushing and shoving each other. At one point the youths were climbing over each other's shoulders to exit the rear door. They continued to exit and even climbed over a grill, smashing it to the ground."

At that point the officers retreated from the scene and waited for additional reinforcements to arrive.

Campbell was later reported to tell an officer that "he was in control of the situation. He explained that he was celebrating his acceptance on a sports team."

Both Griffen and Campbell continued to advise police that they were in control of the party and "as the numbers grew of people leaving, Mr. Griffen and Mr. Moore (Campbell) became more and more agitated about the situation," according to the police report.

At one point, "Mr. Griffen gained access to the house and he walked over to the radio, turned the volume up to max and walked away."

Griffen, Campbell and the three other men arrested at the scene had the breach of peace charge dismissed "prior to arraignment" Monday in Nantucket District Court on the condition they write a letter of apology to the Nantucket Police Department and pay restitution for damages caused to surrounding properties during the party.

Detective lieutenant Jerry Adams said the five men were arrested, but the noise violation/breach of peace charge does not carry a possible jail sentence as a penalty, and is thus considered a civil offense.

Campbell was charged under the name of "Jordan Alexander Moore" but it was unclear whether he gave police false identification.

The arrest of the two players from one of the top college football programs in the country has since been covered by ESPN, the Los Angeles Daily News, The Sporting News, and other national media outlets.

And then there's the real story:
A spokesperson from the Nantucket Police Department said Thursday there were no criminal charges filed against USC defensive end Everson Griffen or linebacker Jordan Campbell, nor were the pair arrested, as reported elsewhere, for "breach of peace."

The pair were cited for being at loud at a July 4th party

"The charges were a civil matter -- kind of like getting a speeding ticket for making too much noise," the spokesperson said. "As far as criminal matters there are no criminal matters for any of the individuals involved in that party."

A USC spokesperson said both will write a letter of apology but no further action is expected.

Who has ever heard of getting a SPEEDING ticket for making too much noise? I don't think that analogy works...

Tommy trojan (and all the other names he uses) is the only clueless dilusional trojan fan in denial, most intellectual fans here are ready and willing to accept whatever the NCAA will do in the future...too many violations to igonore, if the NCAA ignores everything that has been said...then the NCAA better give an apology to SMU, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alabama and all the other programs they've penalizeed for far lesser infractions.

Hey Mr. Intellectual (LOL),

Besides hearsay evidence from disgruntled shysters, what proof is there to bring down USC? I suppose you also believe Pete Carroll will pay off the NCAA execs to get them off our back? You are nothing but a loser like the team for which you cheer. I can't wait to see the Aztecs eat your lunch.

you see? you are dilusional...all hearsay? Joe McKnight stating that Reggie Bush got in a 3-way call with him and Carroll to assure him that there nothing was true about him-Bush? it's also not true that Dwayne Jarrod had his rent paid by Matt Leinart's dad?? it's also not true that Bush's parents got free rent? and $300,000 in cash?? it's also not true that Bush got a brand new 2004 Impala pimped out over a weekend?? and that he drove a 1992 pickup truck on Friday and he showed up with this new car on Monday?? I could go on and on for hours. If all this is not true, then why hasn't Bush sued that guy that wrote the book? isn't that considered "slander"? you're an idiot for even posting your garbage...go back under your rock you moron.

Read the story numnuts...He said, "kind of like getting a speeding ticket." This happens all the time. Instead of keeping them in jail, they give them a written promise to appear(ticket). Before you open your pie-hole you might want to brush up on Law 101.

As a USC fan, it is absolutely flattering to see how something so minor can generate so much fuss! It's kinda sad though to have UCLA fans bringing up basketball (no surprise) in a football story. The fact is UCLA is pathetic at football. The monopoly is not over. It will be over when Pete leaves. Case closed.
