New children's choir coming to area

A former Kankakee school teacher is starting a children's choir for the Kankakee Valley to give kids another outlet for creativity. via Daily Journal/Sunday Journal

this is wonderful! i actually tried out(i'm 16) and made it! with the many kids that showed up and auditioned, it will be a success!

I have heard the choir sing at the YMCA's open house and they sound wonderful, absolutly wonderful.

then why is it there is a 20 year old in the group? That's seems pretty unfair to the other boys in the choir. I'm sure this guy is good but that's unfair if the choir was suppossed to be 8-18 and yet they let a 20 year old in. There is an adult choir...I believe it's through the BTPD and lead by Jeanne Benson. He should join that choir and not take chances away from young guys who need the exposure.

To answer your question "Fighter", the twenty year old in the new Kankakee Valley Performance Choir is actually one of the assistants to the director, and is an incredible asset to this group of talented performers!
The age range in the choir is eight to eighteen. The Kankakee Valley Performance Choir will be holding another round of auditions in January. Watch the Kankakee paper and blog for more information! Thanks for your support and........stay tuned!

Fighter you should have found out in another way and not publicly like this. Had it been true then maybe you could have voiced an opinion.

Shannon who asked you in the first place? He stated facts he heard and wanted to know if they were true. Then added his opinion if they were true. He was corrected and you were just plain rude and uncalled for.

To me that sound like jealousy! And if you wanna talk about rude at least I didnt do any personal name calling, so whatev! Anyway I also have a right to state my opinion.

And sorry darling there's a difference when he was stating it's unfair if the 20 year old guy was singin in the choir for teens...(Which I will have to agree on if it was true. But he's not he's helping and Fighter was corrected on the info he was given.)...and You out and out being rude to someone who was given the wrong information. Maybe you have a "green eyed monster"?

I am in the choir and it is a great experience for us kids/teenagers. Its a good thing for the community and there is no reason to bad mouth this new choir.. and Louis is helping and adding a lot to the choir.

Can't this forum be about positive things unlike all this negativity...

No there is no green eyed monster, because I have no children and I am not a teenager. I just speak what I saw. I really don't think it was any of your business anyway. I was not speaking to you.

I have learned that you really shouldnt take things so personally (not an insult). Life is too short. Have you heard the choir? They really are incredible.
