Great job ? Big Deal , they're only bringing 50 jobs , while other companies are closing and people are losing hundreds of jobs .
Places like CFM , Stride Rite and a few more because of the economy . Then people like you McIntyre , along with Steve & Pam raise people's Taxes and try to steal thier land too !
You guy's have shown your interests are for yourselves and not the Community !

Yeah Great Job alright . Maybe you guy's can think up some more ways to steal some more money for the companies that don't hire anyone except Temp workers by giving them more CEDIT money and adding more fees for the people of that town .

Glad I don't live there anymore because just with you 3 in local Govt. is enough to keep the Town in Red for a long time .

"Good Job" because not only is this a great thing for the environment, it will also save the City (and taxpayors) thousands of dollars. How is it that 50 new jobs is a "bad" thing? If we have to replace the lost jobs 50 at a time, so be it...it is still better than losing more jobs. The Naturesfuel company advised that their goal is to hire LOCAL full time employees. As far as "trying to steal" someone's land, the east side annexation was brought to us (the City Council)by the Mayor, but was removed before any votes were made. I was NOT going to vote for the east side annexation due to too many unanswered questions and last minute changes made to the proposal.

Well let me get this straight . The Mayor is not going to start charging the residents there a trash collection fee now ? Also how much money is the city giving away to Naturesfuel to get those 50 jobs ?
You are suppose to know some of this info , if you don't no biggie , just thought I'd ask .

You make a good point. I will ask the Mayor if this project will negate any request he may have for trash collection fees and let you know asap. Remember that any such fees have to be enacted by the City Council, not the Mayor. If you or anyone have concerns about it when the topic comes up before the Council, contact the Council members with your concerns... they are listed on the City of Huntington's website. You may also leave questions or comments on my website (www.stevemcintyre.org ) so I can share your concerns with the other Council members.

There is no cost to the City for Naturesfuel to proceed or operate the proposed facility. They have stated that they will not be asking for funds from the City or State.

Thank You , Mr. McItyre for your very quick and straight forward reply .
Now For another question , if it's true that the Mayor's wife is on the city council and she is the executive assistant to the Mayor , then how can that not be a conflict of interest ?
Nobody really believes that if the Mayor wants something done and makes requests from the Council that she will not try to help the Mayor first and foremost , regardless of what here role is suppose to be as a seperate entity in the council .

Thank You .

Mrs. Updike is on the COUNTY Council, not the City Council.

I have not heard anything further with regard to a "trash fee" for Huntington. When or if it appears on our agenda, I will post it (the agenda) on my website so the general public can post input on it.

Turning trash to energy sounds too good to be true. So maybe it is. Why doesn't the Fort Wayne company build it in Fort Wayne? Don't they have trash there? Air pollution is not a good trade off for solid waste land filling. "Incinerators-in-disguise " are like environmental snake oil. I am very skeptical and ask why Huntington?

We were advised that Fort Wayne produces too much trash for this type of operation. The trash collected has to be processed or burried within a certain amount of time after it is accepted into the landfill. They claim that their process is much more "eco-friendly" as compared to other processes. You can check with IDEM or the EPA to see how they score at their Atwood, Indiana plant.

Huntington is really trying to lure any kind of operation there .
That towns economy is really bad , companies are closing up , the city increased taxes , but thet continue to offer free Cedit funds to any company that wants it . The biggest employer's in that town are the Temp Services . Those Great jobs avg. pay is around $7.00 hr.. Add to that it's only a 1 ( Republican ) party town .
The Mayor hires his wife with a nice salary too , so that town is going downhill to try and get any kind of Businesses in there .
Ft. Wayne citizens would have protested .

Cancer

The Gemini Full Moon triggers your twelfth house of subconscious matters, Cancer. Dreams you have during this time reveal much about your psychological state. If you have been under a great deal of pressure in your work or with health concerns lately, it's time to go on a spiritual retreat. If a vacation isn't feasible, consider turning off the television for a few days and enjoy the silence.
