"Nobody, however, informed the Hermosa Beach Police Department. Gray said that wasn't his job"

Wow, why wouldnt the District Attorneys office even notify HBPD about them coming in to surrender. Is there some sort of trust issue between the District Attorney and the Hermosa Beach Police ? Did't the people who got rippped off deserve to hear about their arrest by some means other than the local paper ?

Hey, Tricky, read the article again. Mr Gray is Mr Alan's attorney and is under no obligation to notify the HBPD.

Throw the book at these crooks. How many people were affected by the actions of these two? Banks lost money, creditors, vendors, which result in job loses. People like this contribute to make the economy worse. Victims?! Living in PVE at what expense? Sickening!

And lawyers wonder why they are hated so much?

Per their lawyer: "They are decent, hard-working, family people."

If that's the case why did they empty their resto and flee? Did they think people would just forget about what happened?

I have a court document dated June 25,2009 when we took Greg & Melissa to court for non-payment. They were requesting a continuance...
"request for continuance is denied for the following reason: THERE IS NO INDICATION WHEN DEFENDANTS ARE RETURNING TO CALIFORNIA."
Don't tell me this wasn't planned all along.

"I believe the Alans are being blamed for a bad economy," he said. "This is a very difficult economy. All investments don't work out. The Alans did nothing illegal."
Gray said the investors who are complaining are part-owners who lost money used to purchase dishes and food.
"They are trying to make the Alans look like the Bernie Madoffs of Hermosa Beach," Gray said. "They are not. They are decent, hard-working, family people."
Funny. if they were minorities, everyone would be deeming them Guilty, and passing judgement.. But because they are from PV, and own a restaurant in Hermosa, they are being cast as the victims. i dont feel bad for them one bit. many are struggling, and are doing it with iontegrity.
instead these "privileged" citizens took advantage of someone else, lied, stole, cheated, and broke the law. throw the book at them. then again they'll probably only get probation.. must be nice....

Just a correction on your article. "Gray called the Daily Breeze and the police on Wednesday to inform them that the Grays had surrendered after the newspaper published the couple's photographs in its weekly "Wanted" feature." should read instead: "...to inform them that the Alans had surrendered..."

I'll just do the old fashioned thing and wait until all of the evidence is in before I try and pronounce them "guilty".
