Honestly....I don't get it. Why do they publish this information? If I am drinking and plan to drive home...well I am gonna plan on NOT driving down Washington or Lambert.

If they don't post then the busts won't be valid it's entrapment of the best kind! They hope the people who party, drink and drive aren't interested in reading!

They should announce this in spanish. I'm hispanic, but I do not like people who drive drunk without a license and insurance. I am having a hard time getting over the fact that "Alejandro Hernandez" from only God know's where, hit my son's car when he was drunk , without a license and without insurance. I have a harder time getting over the fact that the judge in West Covina allowed Alejandro to post bail. Now Alejandro is out there... Somewhere!!!!

What part of "they have to post this" for legal reasons do you not understand? Police agencies have had to "make it known" for years now... So local newspapers run an article. I can't remember how long ago this happened but it's been ten years ago at least, when some drunk fool was able to successfully win a court case based on the fact that "he didn't know there was going to be a check point."

So, thanks to some scum bag lawyer the element of surprise is somewhat removed, but not by much, how many people read the newspaper anymore? So,less than 1% of the population know in advance where the check point will be... and of those 1% that read this, 100% will forget where the check point is when they are good and drunk.

Ok, I understand they have to do it for legal reasons. But do they have to announce the exact location? In other newspapers, police agencies usually only announce the simple fact that they are going to have a sobriety check point. THey don't, however say exactly where it is going to be.

Oh, so sorry, I do not think your the Alejandro who hit my son. That Alejandro swore to the officer he only drinks beer. I can understand the confusion. After all if you look on-line of the la County jail web site you'll notice that there has been 26 Alejandro Hernandez's that have been booked this year alone.

By law they have to inform the public. Most drunks don't read the paper anyway, so they will catch a few.
