Review: Boulder Valley Towing

I arrived to my car when it was about half way finished being towed. This caught me by surprise because there was no reason for my car being towed (a whole other story). Regardless, I asked the tow truck driver what was going on, his response, "$70 Cash now, or you'll have to get it at the yard" (seems a little fishy right?) I gladly run back into my house, retrieve his $70 in cash and return and he was gone. No more than one minute later. So I hop in my wife's car, and see if I can stop him before he leaves with my car. I pull up beside him, show him the money I have for him, his only response is a few choice swear words and the finger. I'm fuming mad and hopeless.
Now its time to just go get my car and move on. When I call Boulder Valley Towing to find out how much it costs to get my car out of the yard I'm put on hold for over 5 minutes while they go to find the price. How does it take 5 minutes to give a person the cost of retrieving their car?? She returns on the phone and says that it costs $345 today (Saturday) and $310 on Monday. Yes, its more expensive to come get it Today, rather than wait until Monday (seems as though their purpose is to make this experiences as painful as possible). Of course they're closed on Sunday. And yes, it costs over $300 dollars to get your car out of their lot.
They're crooked, they're rude, they're dirty (they left a oil spot in my garage 2 feet in diameter) and they're unprofessional. Stay as far away from these people as you can.

Normally we do not bother with such nonsense posted online but this one just could not be resisted. First of all everyone should know that this poster took his case to the body of Colorado government that regulates and governs towing. He filed an official complaint and an investigation took place. He could not keep his story straight, the accusations that he made were proven to be false and it was ruled that the towing company did nothing wrong and in fact had followed the rules and laws to the letter.
He also fails to mention that he has a habit of parking in other residents parking spaces and that many complaints had come in regarding his vehicle prior to an actual homeowner having his vehicle towed from her spot which she has a legal right to do.
He also fails to mention that he road raged the driver down 96th ave until the towing company dispatcher was asked to contact law enforcement to intercept and when the man pulled up next to the two truck and was informed of this he took off in another direction.
When he called to get information about cost he was put on hold while the dispatcher requested a break down report of charges from the impound lot and in the meantime took other customer calls. He was given different prices for different days because weekends carry an after hours release fee (which is legal and governed and the rate is set by the PUC) and he was given all possible choices and informed that the cost is less during business hours. The dishonest thing to do would have been NOT to mention that and just taken the extra money from him, as apparently he would have prefered that. Since this individual has a great sense of humor, when he came to retrieve his vehicle he showed up with loose change to pay the fees and for some reason was surprised when he was informed that it would be accepted but he would need to demonstrate that it was the correct amount of money (he needed to count it). Oh and did I mention that he, at one point, attempted to retaliate against the homeowner who had him towed by calling in a fruadulant complaint and request to tow her car from her own parking space? Since he is not a homeowner he was unable to do so but the attempt was made.
Now that he has filed an official complaint and proven that the towing company did everything correctly and everything required by law we wonder if he is familiar with the term "Libel".

Slander can also include bodily gestures while libel can include published photographs. Defamation is any wrongful injury to the reputation of a person or entity. This company is the absolute worst. They towed my car minutes after they watched me go to the taco bell drive thru then step away from my car to get a coffee. Their driver was rude, covered with dirt and grime, and not the least bit professional. Their office is a disgusting disorganized mess and is indicative of the type of business they run. Additionally, my car is practically brand new and was in perfect condition. Now it has two dents and some scratches from the work of these amateurs. If you are business, do not contract with these guys for towing service. They have no integrity and their employees are bunch of insolent slobs.

hey thanks for the heads up on where to file the complaints with the Utilities Commission. The seemed very receptive to my complaint and I just finished writing a letter to Taco Bell. Hopefully they will be smart and drop their contract with you bozos.
