Ita s Simple: Global Warming Is Causing the Extreme Weather

There are 12 comments on the ABC News story from Jul 15, 2012, titled Ita s Simple: Global Warming Is Causing the Extreme Weather. In it, ABC News reports that:

Is manmade global warming responsible for the surge in severe heat events we're seeing in recent years around the globe? No, they say - or rather, that's a somewhat meaningless question if you mean that too literally, since nothing ever happens for any one reason - not anywhere, not ever, though there are of course "main causes" or "triggering ... A better analogy would be drinking and driving. Lots of drunks make it home without a major accident. Other factors come into play. The number of drivers on the road, the weather conditions, the route taken, condition of the vehicle, etc.

And one can have fatal accidents without drinking.

But it is fairly well understood that drinking causes a higher PROBABILITY of having an accident. And it causes a higher PROBABILITY of a more severe accident than if one were sober.

Similar arguments for smoking and lung cancer.

Pretty common sense at the bottom of it. And scientists are now stating with some conviction that they have detected the link between AGW and weather extremes.

These links have been reliably determined and quitting smoking, not driving while drunk and lowering GHG emissions are all simple common sense things we can do to improve quality of life for all.

That's a terrible analogy.

How do you know?

Did you learn all that basic common sense knowledge at university?

Really?

You really are a mine of useful information for children, aren't you?

Does your knowledge know no bounds, Mr Undoubtably Spelt Fourty?

It's good of you to admit that obvious fact.

Now you're getting back into the realm of BS, where you normally reside.

You forgot to mention not swimming whilst wearing a lead suit, skydiving without a parachute, bungee jumping without a bungee, playing Russian roulette with an automatic pistol and playing with traffic.
Hope that helps.

"It's simple: GW causes extreme weather"

Notice how nearly all the weather of the past two decades (ever since GW stopped) has been well within the range of natural variability?
Take the "Polar Vortex" as an example. When was the last time that sucker dropped ALL the way down on the citrus regions of Florida and decimated the orange tree plantations? Nope, such extreme convolutions of the Jet Stream ended more than a quarter century ago. When I was a kid ...orange juice on our breakfast table was dependent on the trading price of orange juice futures on the CBOX. After a major frost in Florida we saw lower prices for OJ within the year which meant plenty of orange juice in our home ...thus canker sores.

This evidence suggests that CAGW causes canker sores.

Yes!
When I was a kid, GW caused extreme weather and canker sores ...glad those days are behind us.

As global temperatures continue to rise, ice in the polar regions and glaciers will melt, dumping tons of extra water into the ocean. Warmer water temperatures will also lead the oceans to expand.

These factors will cause sea levels to increase and swamp coastal areas all over the world.

Although flooding is the obvious consequence of rising sea levels, there are plenty of other effects to consider — none of them good.

Here are five of those effects you probably haven't thought about:

1. It will contaminate our drinking water
2. It will interfere with farming
3. It will change our coastal plant life
4. It will threaten wildlife populations
5. It will hurt the economy

A link between AGW and extreme weather has yet to be made.

Apart from that, there's no evidence that extreme weather has worsened.

So, you love to talk Global Warming. Sure you do, it's hip - it's cool - it's now.
But hey, instead of just driving around in your Prius with a smug grin on your face and a bunch of annoying stickers on the back, why don't you really do something that will make a difference.
Less humans - less GW.....right genus ?
1. Get in your Prius gas it up and head for the top of a mountain pass or a tall bridge.
2. Now, pedal to the floor and off into the great blue yonder you go.( don't worry someone will be by to put the flames out from your fiery crash before you add more carbon to the atmosphere )
3. There....feel better ?.....one less human and one less Global Warmer. It all starts with you making a sacrifice to save the planet.
4. Hope you did not forget to leave a note for your Prius driving friends to follow suit.
See you on the other side Prius driving Global Warmer ( umm...actually I hope I don't)

Where is the Global Warming right now Chicken Little assholes?
Why don't you take a nice little trip to Boston this week and spout off your GW BS to some of the locals. I would be hilarious to see you get drilled right between the eyes with an ice ball or more.

The globe has naturally warmed and cooled thousands of times over a billion years.........bunch of arrogant liberal Obama leg humpers. Just keep drinking the Obama cool-aid.
