Pluto and its moon snuggle under a shared atmosphere
Simulations show that nitrogen from Pluto's atmosphere could be flowing over to its moon Charon .

the discovery of the outer satellites & captured rotation indicates that charon is being tidally "bumped" by the outer satellites & will eventually merge with Pluto. The shared atmosphere phenomenon will be rather more commonplaces as the 2 main bodies draw closer.
