It seems odd that the well-educated professors are frightened by the thought that a person who has passed a background check might be carrying a weapon; but it is OK to have no one on campus that could defend them from the crazy person carrying an AR or AK weapon!
Use the law to your advantage! At least 10% of the faculty should ban together and take the concealed carry classes. It should be well published that some of the faculty (no names) are educated on weaponry, and participate in the right to carry a concealed weapon. As an institute of higher learning, perhaps they should offer the conceal carry classes on campus.
