9th DUI Could Send Bothell Man To Prison

A 45-year-old man has received his ninth drunken driving conviction, a conviction that could send him to prison for six years.

why would it take 9? What are we waiting for him to actually kill someone before he's put away? yesss i do believe that is how it works. due to overcrowding in the jails and prisons. Maybe if we start putting to death the prisoners that don't diserve to live like the murderes, child rapists, let the pot smokers out they never hurt anyone, when was the last time you heard of a pot smoker killing someone? please come on let's start doing something about this! our system makes me sick!

You'd think he would've learned after the first eight. It's funny how our court system works. This is an idea of how it works:

From an alcohol-related arrest:
Judge: Okay...it looks like you've had seven DUIs. Okay, we'll put you under house arrest for six months and suspend your license for a year.

From an arrest due to possession/consumption of marijuana:
Judge: First time offense? Okay, you're going to prison for five years. Enjoy getting raped. Also, when you come out of prison, you won't be able to find a job, and you will know hardened criminal tactics, which are the only ones you can use since no reputable company will hire you. In other words, your life is done.

And yes, accidents caused by pot smokers are nowhere near the severity of accidents caused by people who are drunk.

Have you heard of anyone getting into a head-on collison on the opposite side of the freeway due to being high? Or someone driving into a building whilst high? At the most, a pot smoker may cause a fender-bender.

Still, people shouldn't drive whilst high.

Also, people shouldn't drive whilst on prescription medications such as Xanax, klonopin, anti-depressants, or painkillers.
