News of Carrollton ?

I am a graduate of CHS and have found that my former classmates are extremely boring and that their only interest is self-congratulatory braggidocio. Look at me, I'm a lawyer,or I'm rich or I have a lot of money and now you should kiss my feet. I attended one reunion years ago and what a joke, not one person had a real interest in anyone other than themselves and I thought I grew up in a time where people were genuine. I did not know one class could graduate so many phonies.

Don't feel bad, that is in every school. I went to my husbonds 40 year reunion, and what a joke...There were more plastic boobed, lifted faces, lypo suction, and plaster faces there than you could shake a stick at..Wow that was fun just watching all of these 'girls'braging about hoe much there bodies are worth..Now that is a life that I would want to live....NOT! So it is everywhere...

I find it interesting to read the blog items about Carrollton and CHS. Interesting in that if the teachers were so bad, the curriculum was so bad, the extra-curricular activities were so bad, and the school and town were so bad; How in the world did CHS graduate so many lawyers, doctors, teachers, etc., and students that attended the three military academies, Yale, Harvard, Stanford,and other nationally rated colleges? It couldn't be the water because everybody drinks the water.

Sorry, American. This is Carrollton, MO I am talking about...I know many extremely smart people that have stayed in Carrollton, worked, farmed, run businesses, etc. and have done very well. They have lived where they wanted, raised their families in safety, received a very good education for their children, and generally, had a good life. What more can a person ask for?

james r, congratulations for those who felt that Carrollton was the right place to be, for the majority of my former classmates it has turned out to be somewhere else.
Only a very few stayed in Carrollton.
If Carrollton living and its society suits them
have at it. I couldn't wait to leave and not return.

American...again, sorry. I have only one home town and whether or not I like all of it or some of the people that live there, I cannot change the fact that I have lived most of my adult life away from my home town. I do have other places and other people and life experiences that I could never have gotten in Carrollton. BUT, when I do go back, I go back to touch my roots. When I sit down with natives that have stayed, I find it interesting to see how they have adapted to a new society, changes in the town, ideas that new people have brought and generally, do they live in the here and now or in some other time. I drive around and look at the homes and how they have changed. I drive around in the country to see what has happened. The hills, and trees, and the creeks, and the bridges, these are all Missouri specific. Other places have their own special environments but Carrollton still feels good to me. I can get wrapped up in a special warm feeling that goes back to my childhood, teens, college, and post college days. Home never leaves me. It never has and it never will. Wow! ex cc. I've lived in L.A. Talk about liars and cheats...snipers everywhere. They beat you down so fast you don't have any hope. Fighting 8 lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic is no picnic. Opportunity is everywhere- if you don't take advantage of it there is no fault but your own. 75 years ago, 80% of grade school students did not graduate from HS. 50 years ago, 40% did not graduate, 25 years ago, 20% did not graduate. Today, 5% or less do not graduate. Again, the opportunity HAS and IS there. Always has been. There have been too many CHS and NHS graduate go on to finish college, get Master's, Specialist's and Doctorate degrees to be able to say "there is no schools in Carroll County." There may be some teachers that did not fit with you but there were many others that must have fit with most of the students. The "bitchers and grumblers" created most of their own problems... didn't attend, didn't do lessons, took easy classes, had bad attitudes, drank, did drugs, etc. Most of those same people had the same experiences in their work and personal lives also. Don't blame Carroll County for the failures of some or blame those that did well and got ahead. It's not just good names, good family, or money that got these people through. They took advantage of the opportunities that were presented to everyone that lives there. Most of the CHS and NHS graduates do NOT stay in their home town after HS or college because there are no jobs for them. They move on to where there are jobs for them. I do not understand the statement "The liars win." That just makes no sense to me. I'm glad you got out and found a better place. Good luck.

That is EXACTLY what most of the people that write anonymously here on topix are.....snipers. This is the BEST description I have seen yet!!!!

If you are a student or adolescent and someone is posting hate mail about you on topix, be flattered. Someone else earlier put it perfectly, they are no better than snipers. They hide behind an anonymous "handle" and write hate mail out of their jealousy, envy, and personal disappointment. Most of us never have anybody that even knows we exist, so if somebody is taking the time out of their lives to write about you, even if it is negative, that person has been affected by you in some way.
So, don't take it personal and actually realize that you are the better one. And, don't let it make YOU the one who seems envious, jealous, and mean by retaliating here.
This was meant to be a forum for information, not a place for students and teens to post some of the most horrid and dreadful notes I have seen in my life.
If you have never posted this type of hate mail, good for you. It makes you better than them, even if you feel invisible at times, you are still better for not having done it.

Really though, there are a few things that need attention in Carrollton!

Those things that need attention may pass with the natural passing on of a few of the individual who are "in charge" at present.

And some of us are staying, if only to see the outcome.

That is not ch****n sh*t, it's just being stand up and observing.

At times it requires swallowing, your disappointment and and not wallowing in the filth and foul language of a person without and class at all, that is just as bad as those you blame for your disappointments, you have become like those you hate, by your hate.
