"City politics" have hampered downtown economic redevelopment for almost 30 years? I wonder how much of that time the depot has been under private ownership? My hat is off to Mr. Armantrout and Mr. Krikorian for sticking with your "vision" to renovate and reuse this historical landmark for the betterment of the Redlands community.

That building should be preserved & restored. Any gutting out of the interiors would just be another example of big business greed. Next time you walk by, take a peek inside the window of the amazing subway tiled bathroom on the south side. They say the exterior wont be damaged as though ½ of a good thing is good for everyone. Anyways, I doubt it will really happen anyways, tell Krikorian to buy the bankrupt Redlands Mall. He can completely destroy the inside & outside and nobody would be losing an inch of history.

Wonder what they are planning on doing with all the interior features with the proposed renovation? They should not be destroyed or sold-off if there is any possibility that the building could be turned back into a depot with the City's long term planning. Sure would be nice to have an updated General Plan instead of pushing these matters off indefinitely ("City politics" continues).

Yes, DEFINITELY keep the interior and exterior architectural features intact!

I would love to see restaurants and shops in that area, tastefully done and leaving historical features are they are now.

I would also love to see Metrolink's project bumped up sooner.

hobo-its the ISP-mine says from camarillo etc. and i am the 4th gen here in town. Well back to the subject at hand- perhaps this restaurant row vision works in conjuction with the tattoo and liquior store and oh yes the massage palor vision the city has for the northside. It's horrible the city sold it or did'nt buy it. San Bernargehtto has done wonders with their station. movies use it etc...

I dont agree, I think Gardner Construction should handle the downtown area development , they did a beautiful job of demolishing the Swim and Tennis Club and put up those town homes up there on Wabash.( I mean really who needs another attraction in Redlands,).

Indeed, let Gardner put in some skateboard ramps and pump hip tunes into this faded, threadbare town.

I'm sure that Lois Lauer will support this the way she spoke up for Casa Lingus.

which would be like a middle aged woman wearing her daughters clothes, we see enough of that around.

Krikorian has owned that building for a while now and last year had offered it for lease for about 4k or so a month with at least 20k in repairs to be done to it.

The more I think about their 'glass walls' idea, the more it sounds like a really bad idea, like someone living in another state making plans for the 'benefit' of our town.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
