Those stars do not tell the whole story.

To know the REAL situation, show up on an evening or weekend shift and observe EVERYTHING, including the meal service.

I know one of those places (to save money) bills extra for "incontinence care" and doesn't even use adult briefs at night and many of the families are not made aware of that.

Anyone who has proof of elderly abuse needs to report it.

Every person with a loved one in a nursing home or retirement home needs to keep a very close watch on their loved one. These places are notorious for over-billing, and for not doing or providing the services they say they have. Each nursing home has an ombudsman. You can get the name of that person from the nursing home. Any time you see any kind of problem or evidence of mistreatment, contact that ombudsman, and then contact the state division on aging.
