The real story in all of that was not who won or lost, but how voter turnout was "dismal." The racial component of the story was nothing short of sensationalistic journalism. Race was not even discussed with any depth in the article. Someone made the decision to approve the headline for the sole purpose of getting attention. Discussing dismal voter turnout doesn't exactly appeal to the short attention spans of our area readers, so they went with a headline that called attention to race, even though the article had nothing to do with race at all as far as I could tell. I don't even think the article made it a point to discuss how being a Democrat mattered in the election. What a misleading title.

Bad writer.
