Anyone Received Offers to Buy Mineral Rights?

I was wondering if any of you living in/around south Bossier, Haughton area had received checks in the mail for $250 from a firm in Fort Worth, Texas called, Cobra or Southwest Petroleum, offering to buy your mineral rights. According to the letter, they'll pay you up to $3000 for six months of royalties. Are they crazy or what? Has anyone bitten yet? Do you think it's a good deal, or could more be had?

I received the same thing you did and before I threw it away, I called my Attorney and he said the law says they have to disclose to you what mineral they know or think is on your property then you negotiate from there. When I sent them a letter asking what they found or might have found, that was 3 weeks ago and no answer. My Attorney also said if oil is found or suspected, the fair rate would be between 150-275 a week for mineral rights depending on the size of the find.

We recieved tha same thing. I am wondering if they think something is about to happen in Bossier and they are trying to buy mineral rights for that reason.

has anyone received offers in the elm grove, lake bistineau area for leasing of mineral rights and if so, amount per acre. just wondering what going rate is

had landman from cheasepeake come by our house, elm grove & lake bistineau offering to purchase our mineral rights, we have 28 acres.

I don't know the going rate right now. They are having a meeting at Airline High school about this on June 12.

Everybody I know in Shongaloo, and I know most of them as I grew up there, have been getting these offers from Southwest for years. I am also in oil business in Shongaloo. BEWARE of such offers. Reaf fine print and you will KNOW what I am talking about and WHY.

I've got 20 acres in Old Shongaloo. Who should I contact about leasing the property?

I got an offer for 1/4 royalty, $5500.00/acre sign on here in shady grove which would actually give us .17th of that b/c we own .17th of an acre, giving us a sign on of $935.00. The landman said it would be about 30-100 per month/per well with 8 wells going up.

I just received two checks from them for $250. Yes, they are crazy. My family and I are holding out for a better deal.
