So that means he deserves to be stabbed in the back?! What are you thinking? Everyone makes mistakes, does things wrong. That doesn't mean they deserve a violent attack.
If you knew Officer Valdez..let's leave it at that, he may have provoked it, and I now fear for the residents of my community that we are going to be retaliated against for one person's actions.

Agree. Until all the facts are known we can't take sides.
Your right. Everyone who talks crap should be stabbed. I guess the laws have it all wrong. I guess that everytime a wonderful citizen talks back to a cop, then the cop gets to stab them too. Or does it only work when the cop gets stabbed? It's so hard to understand why society is going down the toilet.

I'm afraid that the BFPD will never find nor get anymore facts on this case then they already have now. There are too many loose-ends that this off-duty PO is claiming that happened while he was "jogging." .......stabbed by an unknown assailant???why would the assailant leave the weapon lodged in the officer's back? Leaving obvious evidence at the scene...

I'm amazed at the anti-cop attitude of the local morons. Done much time in Jail/prison? No wonder Albuquerque has such a horrible violent crime problem. Folks we're in the top precentile of the nation for violent crime...come on out to New Mexico and enjoy our crime! Furthermore, how do you people generate enough brain power to actually use a computer?

It would appear that you're one of the very few that has been unaffected by our questionable police dept's.

13... as in MS-13... can you say Mexican Gangs. How stupid is the APD? If they can't spell it then how do they expect to stop it?
Hey APD - are you feeling the love that Sanctuary Cities bring yet?
And Gov Bill are you simply making a gang youth hostel out of our prison system?
Er, ah excuse me. Where do you get off bashing APD for their part in investigating the stabbing? They weren't involved, it happened in Bosque Farms which is out of their juristiction. What did APD cops do to you to so ruffle your feathers? Speeding? Caught you watering the shrubs in a city park? Possession. No valid drivers license? Come on now, Fess up.
APD isn't the one looking stupid, you are, Bucko.

We're going to work with probation and parole, we're going to work with the gang task force to see if we can identify who the passenger was, possibly link him to the driver and the vehicle," said Lt. Eric Garcia of the New Mexico State Police

If the passenger stabbed him, it seems more important to catch him then the driver.

i MISPOKE; cops can be good people but laws that make the people hate cops suck. Ever since they started writing laws to effect drug and sex prohibition, the cops are the bad guys.

This is the same John Valdez that was canned from APD for forging a doctors note during his application process. Look at the ABQ Journal front page dated Jan 23rd, 2008.
This officer has a real history.
Just so you know, he was not canned as you say. He quit. Just a bit of info for you, since you like to bring this up everytime there something on the news about an officer.

I can not believe that something this violent happens and all you guys can talk about is the victims past!?!
If your family member was a victim and had a DWI do you think everyone should say they deserved it or focus on the arrest? or should they focus on the crime at hand? And for the idiot that said dismissed doesn't mean innocent HELLO we still live in the good 'ol USA Innocent until proven guilty!!****!! Can one of you please tell me you have never lied, never broke the law, never driven fast or cut someone off?!? Come on not one of you is perfect you talk a lot of shi* for beeing "not so perfect" people!
Thank you for calling me an idot, I do know that dimissed does not mean innocent. I was stating that everyone is treating him as though he was guilty. Just the same tard, he was not found guilty, insted this world goes upon the statement Guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around. Next time you resort to name calling get your head out of your A$$ and get the facts.

He quit so he was not FIRED so he could keep his law credentials and could go work for another PD department and try to save some thread of credibility-Hmm fired from Corrales also, Not hired in Cuba, then picked up in Bosque Farms. HELLO are you that ignorant? Let's support those officers that are honorable and deserve RESPECT because they are putting their lives on the line, not waste our time defending officers that are questionable, even though I admit that no one regardless deserves to be stabbed or hurt.
