Valencia County is a haven for criminals. Must have been a gang initiation. This kind of stuff will continue while we are softies on crime. Too bad Luke Sanchez wasn't there to cap these suckers.

I wish the best for this officer and the worst for those dirtbags.

Glad to hear the officer is doing well, and that the injuries are non life-threatening.

Catch the perps, and hang 'em high.

Oh, wait, we can't do that anymore. We'll give them free room and board, instead.

This is why I carry a Ruger 380 on me when I'm out running. It ain't much but it's enough.

Have they taken the statement and looked at the Closed Circuit TV video tape of the civilian who WAS SHOT while getting cash at an ATM yet? I realize we mere mortals have low priority, but this took place about a month ago and at last word, they hadn't even looked into the matter yet or even taken a statement or viewed the video tape.

He probably has a big mouth and thinks he is untouchable like all police officers act. They run red lights, don't even use turning signals and speed for the heck of it, so he probably deserves it.

This is the same John Valdez that was canned from APD for forging a doctors note during his application process. Look at the ABQ Journal front page dated Jan 23rd, 2008.

This officer has a real history.

Something tells me that there is more to this attack than what is being reported by this off-duty officer. His description of the two assailants in the automobile driving by the victim. One handling the auto and the other handling the "shank"...with a stab wound like the one the news describes, most people would be in shock by the surpise and then stabbing. The victim seems to be almost exact on descriptions and details up to a "T"...something funny is going on here....

I agree with Skinwalker..especially if you look at Phooey's posting and I verified with the Journal it and it's true!

It is time for us to stand and let these pathetic cowards know that this will not be tolerated. I am somewhat surprised and a bit sadened by the anti-cop attitude of some of the commentators. Granted there are bad cops out there and unfortunately they get the majority of the "press," but there are so many good cops who, with no fanfare, put themselves out there everyday protecting and serving....And No, I am not a police officer nor involved with one.

Thank goodness he is ok. I pray for a speedy recovery and I hope they catch the scums.

It's because of all the anti-cop people like the ones posting on here that cops treat people the way they do. The cop doesn't know whether they are dealing with a normal citizen or one of you spectacular cop haters that think all cops are bad and to fight them at all costs. Heres to seeing you in the news with a chalk outline.

And if the Bosque Farms PD knew about his forgery, why did they hire him?
Excellent question. The ABQ Journal article has some not-so-nice comments from APD Chief Shultz about Valdez. Apparently the BF Chief either doesn't know, or even worse doesn't care.

Valdez also worked with Corrales PD until they found out about him.

13... as in MS-13... can you say Mexican Gangs. How stupid is the APD? If they can't spell it then how do they expect to stop it?

Hey APD - are you feeling the love that Sanctuary Cities bring yet?

And Gov Bill are you simply making a gang youth hostel out of our prison system?

Not that forging a note is a good thing, but it is not like he beat someone in a alley and left them for dead.
Also a good thing this man lived, but even if a cop dies anymore our NM congress and fat Bill decided that we will be soft on the worse of criminals and give them a chance to get out of prison.

If the cops can't get them, the vigilanties will. I would love to hear about groups of gangbangers being found dead, and the cops don't have a clue who killed them. Turn the tables on these mutts.

Agree. Until all the facts are known we can't take sides.
