I have lived in this town for 5 years and can't wait to get the hell out of here!!! Coming from the West coast, this place is red-neck, ignorant, intolerant, right-wing bordering on facist and just plain butt ugly. Imagine flat nothing for hundreds of miles in every direction, no trees and no water. This nasty place is just depressing, horrid, ugly and just plain nasty!

I agree with Celeste; the responsibility does rests with the parents. We can blame the drug dealers and pretend all drugs come from outside the US but the demand is here and we need to deal with that. It all boils down to personal choices at the end.
Yes, any teacher who has taught kids from Mexico (not necessarily 'illegal') has to agree that these kids are the best students. Yes, they are better disciplined students than many of ours, no matter the color. I am not pro 'illegal'immigrantion but give credit where credit is due.
We Americans have become spoiled.
