I wouldn't mind a super Walmart. Are they actually planning to do something with that lot or is this just for curiosity?

I've heard rumors. Something has to go in there, it's not a bad location for the right thing. I want a place around here where you can get really fresh seafood, prime meats, etc. SO sick of ACME and Superfresh being the only options close to Bordentown City.

My sister in law used to go to a little seafood place in the shopping center with Sears Hardware on West Trenton Ave in Morrisville. It's probably about 5 min. from the old Acme lot. I'll ask her if it's still there and the name. She raves about that place maybe you'll like it. I'll get back to you with what she tells me.

Okay, thanks. I meant to say ShopRite too, not Superfresh.

I talked to my sister in law this afternoon apparently the place has closed. She isn't very happy about it either LOL!

Oh well...thanks anyway, guess I'll just continue to make the trip to Wegmans, WholeFoods or Nassau St Seafood. However, I did buy Chilean Sea Bass from Shoprite this weekend and it was delicious!

Every time you pick up the papers you hear about the stores that are going into Hamilton. The green acres being picked up by Robbinsville, the consolidation that is being done by all the surrounding townships.

Please tell me what do we hear about the progress that is being made in Bordentown?

We now have two more stores that are closing on 206. Blockbusters and Fashion Bug.

What is it going to take to get this committee to concentrate on ratables as their primary mission? This is not a job for one member it should be the primary focus of all the committee members. All these new committee men want to do is argue about "solar panels, and grants.

Bordentown has a committee that is the laughing stock of Burlington and Mercer County. We have a Mayor that hasn't made an intelligent comment in 4 years. What were the newly elected officials thinking when they appointed him Mayor?.

The democrats fired an engineering firm that knew this town and hired an engineering firm that no one has heard of. They said they did it to save money. What money? How much money. Couldn't R&V have done the same thing?

We elected all of the current officials but the newly elected and turn coat Morelli think they are running the show. A show that none of them has the experience to handle. None of them has ever run a township.

Yes, we deserve to be called the "town of fools".

You want trees or flowers, go to a park! Bordentown needs to get with it, we need the convenience of a CVS or a Walgreens, a video store, a deli, a dry cleaner, maybe even an IHop, etc. I'm tired of having to go to Hamilton and the surrounding ares whenever I need something. There are too many vacant buildings in prime areas and Farnsworth Ave and it's "preservation" is laughable, this aint Mayberry! The people who run this town need to let it progress into the current times, not dwell on the past!

Trader Joe's would be awesome, but supposedly there is something in writing with Acme that another grocery store can't go in there. Bummer! That would be great for this town. Wholefoods would be another awesome option!

A pharmacy would be ok, but I really like to support the small town gang at Boyd's, and when they can't help me, I take the short drive to CVS on Route 33 in Hamilton.

Yes, the Post Office needs more space, but I think they are better suited elsewhere, as this property could be used for something better than a post office.

Just my 2 yen...

Bordentown needs to get with the times, there are hardly any people shopping on Farnsworth Ave on any given day, how do the shops stay in business?

I agree, Bordentown needs a CVS or a store like it and the township should let more commerical businesses into the town. I would love to see Routes 130 and 206 be developed the way it's happening in Hamilton. A Target Store would have been great at the old Agway site instead of offices and a gym. You have to leave Bordentown to do anything recreational. That's just stupid.

I know the powers that be want that old town feel, but look at Red Bank, it has that feel and it also has the major retails shops too and that's a great place to walk around, eat and shop. I wish Farnsworth was more like it. I wish the people who ruin, eh I mean run this town would listen.

And another thing...

Bordentown has a tattoo parlor and a tanning salon opening up on 206 next to Bordentown Bagels, there is an Irish Pub opening on 130 and although the adult shop at Glen Brook (finally)closed down, there is still the 24 hour one as big as life on 206. So, how is that in keeping with the old town feel? sex, tattoos, drinking...and still no CVS! Yeah, that's preserving the town real good! I wouldn't be surprised if the officials of this town aren't getting a ton of cash under the table to let these businesses into the town! Something ain't right!

There can never be enough Wawa's. They always fill my appetite. I'm particurally fond of the one in Florence, Bordentown could use one at the old Acme site.

Complaining about the government comes off as whining but WHY DO WE HAVE BORDENTOWN CITY, BORDENTOWN, AND FIELDSBORO SHARING RESOURCES BUT NOT GOVT JOBS OR EVEN STATIONARY? Until we get consolidation and the benefits of that economy of scale (count the city council people!) it won't matter if we put in a Wawa, Gold Mine, or apartments for sex offenders. It'll be mired in red tape.

44000 people. 3 towns. 2 police forces. FOURTEEN COUNCIL MEMBERS (two of which serve as mayors) plus an additional mayor.

Does anyone wonder why nothing gets done in New Jersey?

how about a strip mall parallel to 130, with lots of parking for the post office, and some other establishments.. give some existing b'town establishments a chance to upgrade (rosarios, etc)
