The municipal commission has a 30 year contract with the NY Power Authority. It is owned by the Village of Boonville..it can't be sold and never will be.

i dont think so....the govt is bought and paid for by the wealthy...using the media, they just make it seem like an election then they tell you who won...just like any other fiction movie...theres the facade of democracy, that the people have a voice. you have no voice.just like cows that get milked,or sheep that get shorn. they protest but the farmer milks them anyway.try protesting..see what your elected officials do. after they take your dollars theyll be grabbing in your pockets for any change they missed while the police
(govt employees) hold you down

Boonville being a municipality already buys there power from national grid if u check your bill and see the pure power adjustment this is because we have used more then our allotment and had to buy more. I believe we are safe and will stay the way it is. Now.

It is about time that Boonville Municipal customers have to start paying what the majority of power users have to pay for power thru National Grid! You better start saving now!
So, your point is that you'd like to see everybody on Nat'l Grid so Nat'l Grid makes even more money than they already do? That there is some brilliant plan to stuff Nat'l Grid you're come up with, absolutely brilliant.

For everyone on Boonville power start watching your bill close I have been hearing that they estimate the bills in the winter based on last years usage. Mine went up 60 dollars and I had nothing extra on but I looked up last years bill for the same month and they were just about the same.

I just saw the meter reader here last week. So it shouldn't be an estimate. Maybe when the snow is deep and the meters are hard to get at they estimate?

The Boonville Municipal Commission has a contract to purchase a set amount of power from the NY Power Authority (not National Grid) every month for a very low price.
The amount is roughly equal to what is produced by the hydro electric generators that Boonville once owned but sold years ago.
In the winter, we go over that power allotment and have to purchase power on the open market. That cost is then divided among all the users with your percentage of the cost being equal to the percentage of power that you used.
Your bill is based on actual usage, not estimated.
