When I saw that they were having professional wrestlers it confirmed the fact that the event is deffinately heading into the pits. And the fact that they were charging $10 a head just to get in the grandstands to see these fakes was just greedy. NOw i understand the headliner wrestler was a 'no show'. I guess you can call that Rev. Frank Reed's way of opening some eyes and not pocket books. Thanks Rev. Reed.

u have to charge enough to cover paying for the person coming, and if the dude didnt show its not the fair boards fault but hacksaws. put the blame where it belongs on the loser who made a commitment and didnt back up his word. atleast they tried to change things up abit.
Now i will say just the general admission fee is way to high. 10 bucks to just walk around is just abit outrageous.
But this is only my opinion and i hope its just as big next year and i thank everyone who put in there time and effort to try and give us entertainment.

Stop your bit&hing. Phyllis and her people are truly pros . The all bring 50,000 people to this town this weekend. It's a big shot in the arm for churches, organizations and businesses. Wrestling us a natural for Woodsmems. What would you pay to see the same show in Utica??$30.00. Everyone who cares about this community is working in someway over this weekend, most volunteering . The takers, welfare losers, free loaders and bottom feeders are bitc&ing about the price as they're drinking expensive drinks and smoking $10.00 a pack cigarettes! Shut up and go back to where u came fro

Hacksaw was there on Friday. Mickey James "missed her flight" for the event on Saturday. They gave out refunds and allowed everyone on the track to watch the show.

Oh I am not, in anyway, bitching about the volunteers. we people in the community volunteer because we like doing it. but enough is enough. Every year there are less and less volunteers. Why? because they fed up with highly paid individuals who are wasting money with something that has nothing to do with the timber industry. The one to blame for the no show wrestler is the promoter. who is another highly paid person.

I did not personally attend but my husband and son did and enjoyed the show. They did not ask for a refund on tickets. We paid for a wrestling show and that is what they saw. My husband said all of the kids and a lot of the adults in attendance were having the time of their lives. We are not huge WWE or wrestling fans but this was a nice change of entertainment. This kind of wrestling was huge back in the 50's and 60's. It is nice to have some new things to do at the Woodsmen's every once in awhile. Bringing back the greased pole climb was also a fantastic idea as was the tug of war. For my money the Woodsmen's Field Days is a heck of a lot more fun and family friendly than the Fair. My kids had a great time and there were no nasty carnies or people badgering us to stop at games. I think Phyllis must be doing something right to have 300 plus volunteers this year.

Agreed!!!! 10$ to get in 10$ to watch a washed up wrestler? No thanks. I agree it's great for the community to have the Woodsmens by all means!!! But, let's not start reaching to try and make more money on a wrestler that is WAYYYYY past his wrestling days!!. Bring in "NEW" entertainment? great idea, wrestler of the past? I don't think so.

Phyllis does great job along with everyone who helps. The fireworks this year were out of the world, best I have ever seen. Keep up the good work and Thanks for bringing such a wonderful thing to the village and surrounding areas.

My guess is that the people bashing the Woodsmen's are from the Boonville Fair Association. Just jealousy that in three days the WFD brings in more people (with less arrests around town) than the Boonville Fair does in a week.

As far as washed up wrestlers go I would rather watch that even than the Fox Brothers (whoever they are).

It was $7.00 for admission for adults at woodsmens. Not $10.

I wish the complainers would stop! For a town your size, I'd say you have a good thing going with the fair, woodsmens field days and a collegiate baseball team. That sounds like a busy summer to me. Enjoy what you have there. It could be gone next year.
