Their are a few people in Boonville who refuse to leash their dogs. I don't own a dog, I dont want your dog pooping or peeing on my lawn because the few of you are to lazy to leash your dog and walk it. There are laws prohibiting this. The few people I know in town refer to the about ten of you who live in the village. They call you white trash. i have to admit it is very TRASHY. Amazing that people with such tie ins to our community are to lazy to walk their dogs and we have to clean the community of their dog's poo. Not to mention all the children that play in the village, I wouldn't want strange dogs running unleashed at my children.
It's not a dog pooping on your lawn it's me! Ha ha Poppie Doopie Man.

Agreed. Who is our dog catcher? We do have one right? I have never seen a vehicle? The kennel is always empty? Are we paying this guy? Does he get paid? Do our taxes go to him? Why is he not ever in the Village catching dogs, and handing out tickets? Why are we citizens of wild dogville, uh i mean, boonville, not abel to get the dog catcher to actually "catch" dogs that are running loose?
it's a jerks boy that is dog catcher he does this on a part time basis I really don't think it pays all that much and I don't know who he gets paid from. But I do know that if you call him he does follow up on it and will get back to you as to what was done. I think it's Kevin jenks.

Does this mean the Police, and Do Catcher are going to do their jobs, and ticket thes offenders? Or can we all just shoot at them, since they aren't enforcing the laws here, we can just discharge our rifles out the door at them and take them out. Let's do that, then well see all the lazy dog owners at Dollar General buying leashes, and you will know who the ones breaking the law are.
They are always pulling people over for loud motors though. But the people who let their dogs run free in our town need to be dealt with.
I would not advise doing that! It is against the law to just shoot someones pet! If you are defending your farm animals from sure death, that's a completely different story! I hate having to shoot my neighbors dog or cat and do everything in my power to avoid it, but sometimes it has to be done! Dogs can most times be taught to stay away without having to shoot them, but cats well it's just their nature to hunt! Please be as compassionate as you can its not the animals fault!

GREAT!! Maybe that is what we should do, rub the persons whose dogs are pooing on our lawns nose in it, and smack them with the newspaper. Shame on these few pwople who make our whole town look trashy. We have all these big events, the fair, snowfest, woddsmans fair. When people come to our town and see dogs running wild, it makes us all look like we don't care about our community.

call the village clerk and get a copy of the leash law - you will be surprised - it doesn't say you have to keep your dogs leashed!

ya but let me tell you if you walk your dog off a leash and it either bites someone or attacks another dog you are responsible for any damages so for your own good it s better to keep it on a leash then get sued right.

You must maintain control of your dog is what the law states. Opening the door, and letting it run free is not "control."

Also, just like all basic laws, NYS law trumps any Town Law, and in NYS, you must leash your dog.

Stop coming up with excuses for these criminals negligence, and laziness. This is not Philadelphia, PA or Brooklyn, NY. The it's okay to be "Ghetto" and trashy mentality has to stop somewhere.

I think this is a safety, and hygiene issue as well. Can the Dog catcher get on here and set this straight as to why he is letting dogs run free in Boonville?

I'm sure he has better things to do with his time.If you dont call, then he doesnt know. Instead of bitching on topics and now trying to bring his name down, turn off your computer and pick up the phone.

Im thinkn this thread spread the word. Looks like the thread is helping the trashy owners clean up their trash, and have some respect and dignity for themselves and actually are walking their animals now, or leashing them.

Not respecting the leash law in Boonville is a problem for responsible dog owners walking their dogs. You're always afraid of your dog getting attacked or in a fight. Plus their dogs go poo anywhere including other people's properties.
Thank you

Another civilized Dog owner hears my plea!!!! Exactly, and well put. If you can't afford a leash, or are to lazy to walk one, do not get one.
