Pretty funny when you look at all the Boonville news, it's presented everywhere EXCEPT in the local rag. Too busy with the Griffiss paper, Mr Editor, or is it we wouldn't want anything derogatory in out nice "hometown paper"? By the way, the editorials in the Griffiss paper are garbage. Seems you can't write about anything other then the "good 'ole days". Don't look now, but the "good 'ole days" have been gone in upstate NY since the '60's. I'm pretty sure no one cares about an airline that operated out of the Oneida County Airport and has been out of business since 1962. Start reporting some REAL news.

Why seeing its called the Boonville herald you would think it should be all about Boonville but there's very little about Boonville and it's not worth 50 cents either.

They could always send a letter to the editor.......oh wait you have to put your full name on those, always easier to hide behind a computer. I like the Herald and if I ever decide I don't like it I just won't buy it. People have a need to complain.

I agree. People love to bash local businesses. We're lucky we still have a local newspaper...radio station too. Both are good for this town

I was fortunate enough to live in Boonville for four years back in the 70s and 80s. I remember The Herald and WBRV and how important they were to my family. They were, and I assume still are locally owned and operated. Back then those folks were my neighbors and like everyone, they were doing the best they could. I bet that's still true. Be grateful that they still aren't owned by the big chains. I wish everyone in the village a surroundings well.

The paper is owned by Joe Kelly who lives in Utica. Does he care about Boonville? He's too busy on TV and taking trips. Good thing he has good employees working for him.

Thats exactly it! The people that work there are GREAT! They get told what they can and can't put in the paper. They've all had their opinions, but it's either stay quiet or get fired. Unless you've worked there, you have no idea how that place is ran. Joe Kelly is a miserable pric that only wants to make his measly $! So stop bashing the "editors" or whoever and maybe you should write a letter to JOE! Instead of hiding behind your computer, do something about it!!!! Panzy!

Whatever else Joe Kelly is, he is an entrepreneur that bought the Boonville Herald with his own money and he expects it to make money for him. There is nothing wrong with that.

Newspapers are going out of business all over the country. In this small village, his paper sells better if he sticks to feel-good stories and promoting Boonville in general. That's just the reality of the situation.

You are exactly right. He is a business man, people in business need to make money. I don't think he's getting rich off his newspaper but his employees are being paid and they put out a nice local newspaper. I wish he was more a part of community though. I don't see him at any local functions. I see the radio guy all the time but I never see Joe. But...most important..he has EXCELLENT employees and they more than make up for his lack of visibility.

It's a crappy little paper that doesn't print news and run by an editor that's just a big self promoter, in my opinion.

My complaint is the police blotter. Absolutely worthless information. Why do I care if a "27 year old Boonville man" is charged with anything if I don't know who he is? Guess the only purpose of that column is to let us know that law enforcement is busy
