This is a sad situation. I agree with the student who said he would find somewhere else to go on prom night. All the students should do that. Let Chase and Jordan go by themselves and eat every body 's food. If they want to prove a point of equal rights.... all they have proved is how stupid they really are. To put themselves in front of cameras and act like the ignorant kids they are is dispicable.
Shame on Fox 8 for showing this. There is plenty of new's people had rather see and hear about.
The mother has no idea how stupid she looked when she was talking to the reporter.
I feel for all you kids. I just dont know what your going to do when you get in the real world. There are gays everywhere!! What are you going to do quit your job if someone works there thats gay, not eat at a restaurant because there is a gay person working or eating there. You all must stay at home all the time.

I can say the Fag hag mom is just looking for attention. Even after she got permission for the boys to go to the prom she when to fox news. How sad to have to get the attention she needs this way.
She needs to get a life. How sad her life must be. Does she want to take her girlfriend to the prom? Well must be Im sure she didn't do all this for the boys.
Actually Fox news hunted me down, I did not go to them. I did not do this for attention but to raise awareness about the discrimination LGBT teen's face in school.

Furthermore, I would have been less inclined to do the story if the school hadn't lied and said they had always had a non-discrimination policy. But they did, and have been proven to be not telling the truth in their own voice in the message they left me.

Also, I do not have a girlfriend, I have a husband..You think because a person speaks out about gay rights, that they must be gay, you would be surprised by how untrue that belief is.. but make no mistake I am proud of my gay son and the strength and courage it takes to be out, in a community full of haters like you.

Kudos to you sweetie! As a mother, I too would do whatever it takes for my kids ti have FAIR and EQUAL treatment!

As for everyone else who believes this is wrong: if you truly lived your lives by the Bible, you would be in jail for a number of broken laws!!! Would you not stick up for your own children? And to say you are raising your kids the "RIGHT" way is just laughable. You show me one person who has raised the perfect child who is completely free from sin. There is no right way to raise our children. We raise them to be good honest people, be productive in society and obey the law. Every parent has hopes and dreams for their children, and I know being discriminated against isn't one of them. If your kids is being bullied at school for any reason, the right thing to do is to stick up for them. I'm sure you wouldn't tell your child to just deal with it because some one might get mad! Wake up people! You are making this a big deal because these boys happen to be gay! If this was about the color if their skin, I'm sure you would think differently!

There is currently a bill before Congress that would protect Gay, Lesbian, Bi, and Transgender students from this very type of discrimination. If you would like to take a stand against this discrimination, contact your Congressman/Woman and ask them to support and pass The Student Non-Discrimination Act

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z... :

This bill, if passed, would “end discrimination based on actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity in public schools, and for other purposes.” You can read the entire bill at the link above.

I urge all of you to call Congress and voice your support of this bill. If you are unsure of who to talk to you may visit the House of Representatives website at http://www.house.gov/ to find out who your Congressional Representative is.

Parade around? What the heck does THAT mean? God doesn't belong in school anyway. He belongs in your heart, in your home, in your place of worship. God doesn't need to be 'paraded around' in front of other people that might not believe or believe differently. If they want to find god, they know where to go.

Now I know who we are dealing with. Typical left wing kook from IL. You have perfectly illustrated my point. If homosexuality was natural wouldn't we all be gay? Humans wouldn't reproduce if that was the case genius. Seriously put down the crack pipe, where do attend church with Rev. Wright?
That's the dumbest reasoning I think I've ever encountered. That's like saying well if red hair must not be natural because wouldn't we all have red hair then? Sheesh

Who has Christianity oppressed. Who? I don't expect much from the folks from IL or the UK anway.
Let's start recently with people in Japan: "Since the 1970s, some Christian ministers and some lawyers have been orchestrating the kidnapping and confinement of Unification Church members and demanding, sometimes over a span of years, that they denounce their faith. Abductees experience suffering every day from physical violence and brainwashing techniques from the Christian ministers who try to convert them.
Actually when you think about all the people, Jews, Protestants, Catholics,Muslims, that have been murdered in the name of God because each religion thinks they're the one, true religion, it's pretty sad.

I'm sure there WERE hearts broken over this. Just as I'm sure the parents of the first interracial couple weren't thrilled with the decission of thir child to date outside their race. But justice moves on, even if hearts are broken along the way.

Thanks Twister:

I'm going to tell you something. This family accepts and loves both of these boys just the way they are. The ones that are heartbroken over this need to merely open their eyes and love these boys just the way they are..it is called unconditional love. Love does not have conditions, I'll love you if, I love you but.. It is I love you, just the way you are.

Both of these boys have been out for a very long time, before they ever even met and they have been together a year and 8 months..if their families didn't know by now, then they do not know these boys as well as they claim. There is only one family member who didn't know that is on these boys' minds and that has been worked out, because they love and accept!

You want to talk about heartbreak, how have you treated them..those of you who claim to be heartbroken. They are being open and honest about who they really are. YOU and YOU know who you are have been mean, hateful and in some instances abusive!

How about we talk about that? I didn't think so!

Do you get any of this stuff on your own or do you always use someone else's material to fight your own battles. Amazing how the internet can make the least intellectual person seem intellectual. If you would read books and actual court cases which establish precedence in such matters maybe I could take you serious. Instead you grab every morsel you can quote from nonobjective web pages that you peruse. To claim Jefferson wrote it and give me a quote which says it "traces" it back to Jefferson, how ridiculous can you be? The Declaration of Independence can be traced back to John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire, and Montesquieu but this doesn't mean they were the authors. Influenced it yes, wrote it NO.
I think you meant to address the people who are constantly quoting the bible!!

I was there showing my love and support, which is what you are supposed to do for your children. I am doing what a mother is supposed to do!

The Truth wrote:
What we need realize, is that at the end of the day, there is a right and there is a wrong. It seems that some people in our country, rather than standing on one side or the other, want to just say, "whatever feels good to you." Americans need to grow a pair, and stand up for what they believe in.
As a Christian, I am not judging you if I tell you that what you are doing is an abomination to God. I am not judging you, if I tell you what they bible says. I am not going to make comments on whether or not you are going to heaven or hell. But sin is sin.
If you saw someone stealing from your neighbor, would you call the police? Or would you sit back and say, I don't want to judge that guy, and even though I believe it is wrong to steal, maybe it's okay for him to steal, and just let him take all of your neighbor's things? What if for the past 2000+ years we have had it all wrong, what if it is okay to lie, cheat, steal, murder.....you name it. Do we just sit back and let these things happen? Or do you stand up for what you know to be true!?!
Thanks for the fallacy lesson equating theft with human rights. Didn't you take critical thinking in college? You say "I'm not judging you by telling you what you're doing is an abomination but I'm NOT judging you because I'm not telling you you're going to heaven or hell" We're ideally talking about love here and not cheating, lying ,stealing or murder. You can shake your bible all you want but last I heard we don't live under biblical law in this country. Otherwise you'd be stoned to death for eating shellfish. ah, but the times are different now you'll say. Those old biblical laws don't apply anymore. You can eat at Red Lobster and not expect eternal damnation, and if you beat your wife you might actually go to jail for it. You guys who believe in literal interpretations of the bible like to pick and choose which 'abominations' apply and which don't.

Finally, don't believe it when the bible thumpers come knockin and tell you you have to 'defend traditional marriage' or the 'gays are trying to redefine marriage' We have religious freedom in this country and your church won't have to perform gay weddings if it doesn't want to. And to answer your question Grouper many Quakers, Unitarians, and reform Jews, to name a few, DO support gays. No one is going to tell you how to raise your child or live your life. Jews have been going to their synagogues for hundreds of years in this country and it hasn't stopped you from worshipping the way you want to. Buddhists still meditate every day and you can marry whomever you want. Don't be tricked into thinking that giving gays full equality is in any way going to diminish what you have. Only you can do that. The only thing that makes a mockery of marriage is Britney Spears' one day marriage or Liz Taylor's what is it, nine now? I lost count.
