It is a sad state of affairs when a child gets to create a sensationalist story over something that he is too young to be involved in. This minor's Mother wanted to be on the news so she made a threat. The school folded and she gets to parade her son on the evening news. I am disappointed that the news even considered this newsworthy.

I say shame on all you Christians for being so JUDGMENTAL. Lets face it, the boys are lucky to have found each other. At least they are happy.

Lisa is one of my idols. i look up to her so much. we need more parents like her who will stand up for their children an support them. no matter what your sexuality is. Jordan an Chase are a cute couple and im glad they are allowed to go to prom.

Why all of the hate up there?? Can't we just celebrate the fact that these kids get to be happy? What good does it do you--or anyone--to hate on them? And also, it's newsworthy considering the other recent gay prom incident. It's good tohear about a positive outcome.

This story isn't about attention, this story is about equal rights for all, not just the select few, people like you would choose, but all Americans! Read the Constitution! Thank all of you for proving exactly the kind of discrimination that LGBT teen's suffer in this state and country, I couldn't have made my point better then you did with your hateful, closeminded, backwoods words. Not all people are Christians, not all people believe that homosexuality is wrong. How would you feel if someone tried to tell you who you could or could not love? How would you feel if your rights were being stomped on by people of a different faith, who did not believe what you believe, but felt that they could tell you how to live your life? The American's in this country always try to deny someone equal rights. Native American's, African American's, Women. This is just the same crap, different minority group. And apparently all you bible quoting Christian's need to re-read you own bible! If you are going to quote one then quote them all. Shaving (Leviticus 19:27), eating shrimp (Leviticus 11:10), tattoo's (Leviticus 19:28),working on Saturday (Leviticus 19:17), bunnies (Leviticus 11:6), and so on and so forth, so I guess almost all of you will also be in hell for committing an abomination according to the bible!! Furthermore, your bible states, thou shalt not judge! Love thy neighbor.. The example you set for Christian's everywhere is disturbing, you quote and obey the bible only when it suits your purpose, but if it interferes with your life, and what you enjoy, you ignore it. That is not a Christian, that is a hypocrite!

You know you're in trouble when someone says "I believe in freedom....but." I'm so happy this worked out the way it did, and that the school didn't cave to the forces of hatred and discrimination.

So being Christian means you are allowed to judge other people. God nor Jesus never said homosexuality was wrong. Some guy named Leviticus did. But he didn't like football either, maybe he had inner feelings for some dude.

I live in NC and am glad to hear that they will be able to go to prom together. I work for a church as organist and I am so tired of hearing "I'm a Christian" as people's excuse for their opinions. This is about equal rights and non-discrimination. I fear that these so-called Christians, which by the way I consider to one myself, have aligned themselves with the conservative right wing agenda and see this country as a members' only club. We'll if that is the case then how do you account for Jesus being persecuted under the law and ultimately crucified? The one thing we should all remember is that GOD IS LOVE! Stop spreading hate in this country.

This is great.Glad it worked out for them. Its nice to see a mom stand up for her kid instead of letting him be walked over.Say No to Hate and Oh and BTW I'm gay had a dad lol blows that whole "no dad equal gay" thing out the water eh? Its America and we say its home of the free, etc etc.Lets make it that way then free and equal for all not just some. For those who call on the bible, please read it fully.Notice where it says any number of things I'm 100% you do at least one of will land you in hell.It does say judge not, love thy neighbor, etc. No mortal person has any place judging anyone on this Earth.Remember that, and don't quote and follow only what suits you okay. You don't need to like it,but you do have to accept it.

I was planning on attending this prom but now I think I'll just find something better to do, where I won't be grossed out. And to the angry mom, just shut up. You aint going to change what I think about gays. I may be a hypocrite but oh well. Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve!

Dear "Student" May I point out, that teenagers who exhibit this type of homophobia are usually doing so to hide homosexual feelings. My guess is you probably have a crush on one of the boy's, and just can't admit it..
