Geeze lefty, how can you blame this on our current president when he has been in office for only two months? If your wonderful republican regime didn't waste our country's money attacking an innocent country while the real bad guys that attacked our country were set free, the oil owners would have not been so offended that they raised the price of gas over the past 3 to 4 years.
What bothers me is that because of the gas prices I understood why the price of food increased. But now that gas has gone back down, why hasn't the price of food gone back down, too?

PO Editor doesn't garden much. Mary Lee Scalf bought Pineapple Sage and tarragon, not pineapple, sage and tarragon.

Plowed the garden on Thursday and disced it on Saturday. Till it one evening this week, and then plant. Onion sets are $0.85/lb and you can get pea, radishe, lettuce, beet, broccoli, cauliflower seeds at the dollar General or at the hardware store. Going to Boyer's this weekend for a cherry tree and some strawberry plants, and gotta start a couple of cherry 'mater seeds; I'm going to do one in a Topsy turvy to see how those work - the rest will go in the ground in the garden. Thankfully, my canning kitchen in the basement is done, and I'm ready - can't wait!

Donate the spoils to the homeless shelter, Salvation Army, etc. It is a tax write-off.

Please let us know how the Topsy Turvy works for you. I've watched the infomercials and they really make some great claims about yields.

Will do. I'd say you couldn't put a regular tomato plant in there; the plant would get too heavy for it.

I can't wait to have a garden. Every spring and summer I grow what I can on my apartment's balcony. Herbs mainly; basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, cilantro, chives, mint and parsley... a little tougher but all the more rewarding are my jalepeno pepper plants. This year I'd like to grow some spring onion... I doubt I have room for bell peppers, but you should never grow bell peppers near spicy peppers or the cross pollination may make your sweet peppers taste spicy. Good to know.

When I have more room I'll add onions and tomatoes... pretty much whatever I need for salsa. Anyone ever grow garlic?

Also, some Boston lettuce would be great.

We garden every year, have been for 53 years now, and still find rewards in it. Many times when you have an abundance you offer same to persons that you know could make good use of it only you say to them come and pick and get, never come, if you take it to them sometimes a small amount is used thee rest spoils. I don't understand waste. I guess it is better to go to a store and purchase a can of something already cooked.

Sagittarius

People around you may be insistent in their demands and they seem unreasonable, which in turn will lead to mental tension for you. There is the danger that this will dull your resolve, but the real path still lies ahead, beyond these temporary hurdles.
