Citizen's of Booneville,
In March of this year a 25 year old mother went missing. She was last seen with Steven Long and Aaron Henry. These men claim she jumped out the window of a moving truck before she could be stopped, and she was never seen or heard from again. The truck window she is alleged to have jumped out of required pliers to unroll. Furthermore, Kelli was sitting between the two men.
Steven Long, who apparently uses several aliases, has since left town. Just prior to leaving town, Steven Long dropped Kelli's purse off with her family.
Kelli's clothing and a jacket were found near a campsite in Ione. The jacket had "drag marks" on it. Law enforcement has refused to return phone calls to Kelli's family regarding her disappearance. Additionally, they have threatened the family with arrest if they continue to search for her on their own.
If this were your daughter, sister, mother, friend or niece, you would want to know what happened to her. You would, hopefully, do everything in your family to bring her home. Kelli's family will do whatever it takes to find her. Please come forward with any information you might have. You may contact the Logan County Sheriff's Department. A Myspace page has also been set up for Kelli at http://www.myspace.com/help_find_kelli
Please help! Her little boy would like his mommy back.

The simple answer to that is because they can. When you have a monopoly at all the small towns in this area you can jack it up 15 to 20 cents a gallon. They'll give you some excuse like it costs that much to transport the thousands of gallons they sell. They regulate the price and the small ones have to follow cause they can't compete in a gas war. If you'll notice they don't compete well in the larger cities, so we pay the price. In simple terms just like the banks in this sub-prime mortage mess. GREED

One small thing that causes it to be higher in Booneville and other small towns is we dont get the boarder discount like Ft. Smith . it's only about 2 or 3 cents per gallon

Thats on the border of something isn't it? lol. They've got competition out of Little Rock. I travel all over this state and where there is no competition for them the prices are jacked up. Bottomline. Sure hope the new Supercenter gets some pumps in and just maybe we can get a break.

How do you say SCREWED. They've got competition in those places as big or bigger than they are so they get right. Our independents here have to follow suit or be drove out of business. May take them some time but have been told to not even try a gas war. Course they're not going to complain cause they are going to make more per gallon also. Heard they tried to get the contract for the new Supercenter and was denied. I think Murphy Oil has all their business. Also if they put in gas pumps without their business they were going to sue. Which would be a joke, WalMart could buy them a million times over. If your not already, everyone needs to put a ban on Booneville gas pumps till they treat us right. Put in just enough to get to the cheaper price if your headed that way. How much GREEd is enough?

On an annual basis, how much money do you save doing that?

Using a very conservative estimate for most families at todays price difference from Ft. Smith to Booneville..25 x 20 gals.=$5 more per tank of gas. If you just used 1 tank a week that would be $5 x 52 wks.=$260 per yr. Now we all know most families have two or three cars now a days because of jobs, school, and what little entertainment we can afford. 3 cars x $260 =$780 per year. What could you do with an extra $780? They got us by the short hairs if you purchase gas here. I'm not saying make a special trip but if your close to Ft. Smith fill ur up or top it off. The only place I know thats higher than Booneville is Waldron. I've always heard Shop Booneville First, but when your getting goosed its kinda hard. Time for the Chamber members to step up and have a meeting with them and ask them to get right. Stop lining their pockets with greed when we could use that money for essentials.

Shop Booneville first! A few pennies at the pump is not that big a deal. I suspect those pennies will come back to us in the form of more buildings, maybe the new gym!

Gasser sounds like maybe hes getting part of the profit. I agree Boycott! Most people go to Fort Smith often enough to fill up there. Unless we take a stand nothing will change

Thanks for the comment. We were thinking of buying a home in Booneville, not now just more Arkansas politics. We'll stay in Colorado.
By the way our gas is cheaper than yours!

Filled up in Fort Smith today for 2.67. And Gasser do you honestly think they are going to put out the money for a new gym?

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Sagittarius

You still prefer to be in a world of your own, in which nothing nasty is happening, but at least you're feeling a little more realistic than you were yesterday. It's a perfect day for visiting somewhere beautiful, peaceful or relaxing, or for going to the cinema or an art gallery. But it will be difficult to get up the energy for any prolonged Christmas shopping.
