From what I heard, the shooter shot his ex-wife/ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend. This happened in front of her kids. Her son is the one who called police.

With the department that's working this, there is a good chance that he will beat the charge or at least get a very good plea. No experience in investigation division.

Amen to this. He desrves the worst punishment. what a selfish bastard to take the life of two innocent people over jealousy and in front of his own child who will have to suffer from seeing his dad shoot his mom. He deserves to be tortured for the rest of his life or dead.

The system failed this couple and the children, as it often does. I heard that the boyfriend, Mr. Cooks home had been shot up by Jeremy last week and that Jeremy had beat his wife last week and was arrested over that. His family, as usual, bailed him out? WHY? Didnt they know he was safer behind bars than out on the street? The judicial system really failed this couple and those kids. There were warnings of this coming, people ignored the signs. Jeremy is a coward and should be put out of everyones misery as soon as possible. When he took 2 innocent peoples lives in such a cruel and premeditated fashion he also gave up his right to live a decent life. He should pay for what he has done to the maximum degree of punishment or by his own death. The children are forever scared over this, everyone needs to pray for their healing.

It wasn't the system that failed. The judicial system operates under certain rules and guidelines. He's been arrested multiple times on multiple charges over the last several years, from domestic violence to larceny to domestic violence to assault on a female and on and on. The legal system arrested him, charged him, and set bond each time.....and he's been bailed out every time by his grandfather. He's also gotten out of nearly every charge because of who is grandfather is. I'd say it was his family that failed him, in addition to his basic nature, because every time he "beat the rap" it told him that he could do it again. He probably thinks he will beat it this time, too. Let's hope he doesn't.

I never knew the whole story and All i could think is I would hate to be the person who had to tell those kids their mom was gone. Then I hear he done that in front of them. That Just tells me apparently this man did not care about those kids. I mean to make them watch him shoot their mother. They were probably scared to death. This happened in my family. My grandfather shot my grandmother in front of my mom and she was 10 at the time. Her sister was 7 and in bed asleep. The only thing is my Grandfather did not know my mom was awake. Like this Jeremy guy. But My Mom has lived with that her whole life and it still upsets her to talk about it. A next door neighbor was at the house and he took my mom and Aunt out of the house and as he was leaving my Grandfather shot himself.
No child should ever have to see their parent murdered. And Jeremy should know his kids will forever resent him for what he done. Possibly even hate him.

Oh hi again--you never miss an opportunity to disparage the sheriff's department do you? Perhaps some words of sympathy toward the family would be better than pursuing your personal agenda on this thread.

You are right. The family has never allowed this man to be held responsible for his criminal behavior. They are always helping him get out of his messes. I am afraid this time it won't work. I am hoping the DA seeks the death penalty for this case.

Yes this is very sad for all families concerned. Yes this might could have been prevented if the sorry sheriff & detective division had n't sat on their ass for the past four years . Why did they follow up on these beatings and shooting in the house, but turn him loose with his weapon and see what happened now. Don't blame the grand daddy. Hagaman might get him out like having officers taking certain prominenet people home after driving impaired.Cover up that's what they do best.

Are you insane? Obviously you do not know anything about how our criminal justice system works. When law enforcement makes an arrest, the person goes before a MAGISTRATE who sets BOND if there is any. Then the person is held in jail UNTIL THEIR BOND IS PAID by someone. Once the bond, set by the MAGISTRATE, is paid, the person is set free until their court date which is always weeks or sometimes months away. The sheriff's department cannot set bond, set a court date, nor can they continue to hold someone if the person's bond is paid. When court finally rolls around, JUDGE OR JURY will decide if the person is guilty or innocent...or sometimes the DISTRICT ATTORNEY will allow a plea deal. Again, the sheriff's department can only hold someone if they are found guilty or if their bond is not paid. So the bottom line is this....The person who is really responsible for the death of a beautiful young mother and a good man is JEREMY RUSSOM. He was running around free because SOMEONE BONDED HIM OUT of his most recent arrest. That someone is partially responsible as well. To blame law enforcement is just stupid.

There is absolutely no defense for the sick, selfish act Russom committed. Your county paper quoted one of his family as saying this was over his children and he must have snapped. This has been building up for years and was cold blooded and premeditated. If you are concerned for the children you don't kill their mother and her boyfriend. This was the cowardly act of a jealous, obsessed murderer. He deserves to die and then suffer for eternity. To "Genuine Wataugan" I would say that there is often favoritism towards well known and heeled members of a community. Justice is not always dished out as equally and blindly as procedures imply. But then I'm betting you already know this.

What really happened is that James Wilcox has bailed this brat out every time he has gotten in trouble. Anybody with a brain could see this coming. If his family could have gotten to him before the cops did they would be hiding him now. Those poor children have lost their Mom...thanks to James and others who kept bailing this cold hearted jerk out. He really loved those kids....he left that poor little boy there to watch his Mother die. It had nothing to do with wanting to see the kids...it was all about having control over Heather.
