are you saying that you are exercising your own free will by not answering my question? that wasnt rhetorical. where was god when the priest was raping the alter boy?

hey randy, "what?" the devil, "huh" the devil is everywhere.

It's funny how the religinuts will say "free will" when asked why god allowed 9/11, priests raping kids, etc...but ask them about the US Airways plane that landed in the Hudson a couple of years ago or a similar event, and they will call it a "miracle" as many did. See, god only pulls the strings on good, happy things. When something terrible happens, it's "free will" I wonder if the religinuts know that when Captain Sullenberger was interviewed (by 60 Minutes I think), they asked him if he was praying right before the plane went into the river. He said, no, he didn't have time to pray, he had a plane to land.

Greatest man in History.. Jesus had no servants, yet they called him master. Had ...no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him healer. He had no army, yet kings feared him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified him. He was buried in a tomb, yet he lives today.

You can rest assured that Captain Sullenberger did not land that plane alone... and I am not talking about a co-pilot sitting next to him...

9/11, crashing economy, war, radiation from Japan, could it be judgement against America for National sin? How many times a day is Gods Holy name taken in vain? How much worship of the occult goes on in America? How much perversion/porn.sex crimes/sodomy is there in America? Crime? drug and alcohol abuse? A nation who turns away from, mocks and no longer fears God WILL face Gods wrath and judgement, all one has to do is see what happened to Israel in the Old Testament. But its not too late for America and you.

do you seriously think that somebody is going to have a "spiritual awakening" via your little "message" on a topix page? if that actually happened, what would that say about faith? what would it mean to the integrity of your beloved religion if somebody can just read something another human wrote and completely change their lives around to live accordingly?

come to think of it, thats all religion has ever been from the beginning.

Jesus was not white. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Ha, you do know something. Jesus wasn't white he was olive skinned and woolly headed. So perhaps we need to dismiss you. As far as someone becoming spiritually awakened via this message, you never know. God works in strange ways.

so perhaps we need to dismiss you? what? am i missing something?
your tone is that of someone who made a great point, yet im missing the "meat" of your statement, if you will.
would you consider the way god was working during the holocaust "strange", or was he on vacation?

I don't think that God had anything to do with the holocaust. That was the hand of man. Man has the tendency, to have a will of his own. The hand of an evil man. Sometime's we blame God for things that He had nothing to with. Religion had more to do with the holocaust, religion is not from God, but from man. You can be religious and not believe in God. There are a number of pagan religions. Very religious folks, they have their gods, I have my God. Does anyone blame the holocaust on their so called gods? No! Only Yhwh my God. That seams strange to me. Of course thats only my opinion. Perhaps there are a lot of things are being missed or dismissed. But in the end, we will see!!!

....jesus tap-dancing christ. so the holocaust was at the hands of a man. my mistake, i guess i had better use an example that can't be picked to pieces by god's army. earthquakes. how about that? was god working in his strange ways when he decided the Japanese needed to be punished for their sins, cellphones and colorful gameshows?

"A great rumble from within the loins of the world shaketh all of man on the island, walls of stone crumbled to pebbles, homes and stores reduced to dust, and it was good, for the sinners wept, for they knew their prayers had been too few for salvation. Then He washed the land clean of sin and fornication with a mighty swell of the ocean, and it was good; for the heathens were no more and the angles rejoiced to the lord, for on this day, he cometh and delivereth his love upon the blessed land, and it was good, for his flock would graze again".

W-A-R-N-I-N-G!!- Bible Usage Can Be Habit Forming. Regular reading can cause Loss of ANXIETY and FEAR; decreased appetite for LYING, CHEATING, STEALING, HATING, ANGER and ENVY. Symptoms Include: Increased sensation of LOVE, JOY, PEACE, COMPASSION and CONTENTMENT. If Symptoms Persist, Just PRAISE THE LORD.(copy and repost if you don't mind side effects of the Word)

how often does this "door to door" recruitment actually help save the sinners of the world? would it be safe to say that most everyone is aware of religion and it's various sects? most would agree that religion should be found, not redundantly force fed to those who think differently then yourself. those who go about "spreading the word" claim to be helping others see the light, yet, blinded by that same light, these self-righteous, holier-than-thou god warriors fail to see that pushing the same envelope and spewing the same rhetoric is what turns most people from the idea of "the lord". by all means, enjoy putting 20 bucks in the golden collection plate every sunday so your church can spend 1.2 million in renovations (because god hates ugly churches) and spend your paychecks on a fancy sunday's best (because god hates dockers and dickies).

True story: as a kid my parents brought me up methodist (insert jokes here gang!) and one day, in sunday school, i asked my teacher why greed was a sin. she answered with some typical answer. i then asked her if greed is a sin, why does god say thou shalt not have any gods before me? whys god, and his word (the bible) littered with SO many contradictions?

Today, if somebody was to sacrifice his own son on an alter because a voice that only he could hear told him to do so, what do you think would happen? would you be okay with it? would it be justified? dont answer with some lofty bullshit trying to prove a point to this here sinner, be honest.

this is one of the funniest things i have ever seen. i commend you, good sir. even the religious nuts should forget their duty to god and momentarily lighten up. this just shows how simple it was for MAN to create the bible and just call it gods word. "he spoke to me!" what makes you so special? why doesnt he put his calls on speaker and just tell everyone? why is it up to that one lucky guy to interpret his bidding for all of us? why is it just moses on the mountain? why is it joseph smith in the field with the golden plates? why can't he speak to a packed stadium at Turner Field during a braves phillies game?
please people, answer this with some substance. don't just post a link to some poorly compiled website or sketchy video of baseless conjecture. defend yourself, have some pride and substantiate your claims. since your faith is the most defining trait about you and you wear it on your sleeve and are demanding others do the same lest they face eternal damnation....sell us with truth.

Actually, one of the most spirit filled churches I have attended is made up of a congregation of folk who share a love of motorcycles.. They come to church - which is actually an "office" in Fleetwood - wearing their jeans, chaps, T-shirts and riding vests. Many have tattoos, some have long hair.. Many have lived somewhat rough lives if you will. I find the stereotype you described above as very closed minded and ignorant.

It is absurd to think that sacrifice and things of that nature would be an accepted practice in today's times... For someone who appears to be somewhat intelligent, you sure do make some pretty ridiculous claims trying to back up your way of thinking...

i am not asserting that yours or any church anywhere practices any type of ritual sacrifice. i am asserting that this story from your beloved book is just as ridiculous then as it is now. this is only one of the countless stories that are absolutely ridiculous and somehow, many people much more intelligent than i am, unconditionally accept it. the bible has absolutely no relevance to modern life. sure, you can argue that the various teachings have helped keep people on the straight and narrow and deliver them from evil, but they are based solely on common sense. All laws are based upon morels and the morels set forth in the bible had been common knowledge for thousands of years prior to the creation of your religion.

speaking of the "invention" of christianity, it is a FACT (fact meaning it can be proven someway other than faith or miracles) that christianity was born of many other religions that were spliced together. most of the stories and traditions are adaptations from pagan mythology and absolute falsifications. they were intended to entertain the masses into joining this new thing all the cool kids were doing in secret behind the iron fisted roman empires back.

I am very aware that a lot of "rough" people turn to religion. i am very aware that serial killers, junkies, child molesters and all that garbage turn to god when the going gets tough. that can be a great thing for some people. i feel that anyone can do anything that they choose, and shit, if you wanna be a junkie i feel that it is wrong for anyone, including the government, to say you cannot. i feel that religion is an excellent thing for some people, and a lot of times, these people are those who are at rock bottom, at the end of their rope, whom have nothing left for them. these people need something, and when nobody else in society will welcome them with open arms, the church and all its delusions of grandeur and lies and false comfort from a false savior will accept them no matter their sins. and that is a beautiful thing. my problem with it is when people who believe these things reach out and try imposing religion upon people instead of letting them discover it themselves when the time is right. yeah yeah, nobody imposed upon me, nobody asked me to read this forum...thats not the point, so dont get sidetracked.

god wants spiritual fruits, not religious nuts.

you should all heed my instructions in what you now call the old testament on how you should treat your slaves. you freed your slaves, why? I gave you specific instructions on how to treat your slaves. now go enslave people and do as I instructed you.
