Dr T J Mcanallen ? What happened to him

I had the doctors office to call me because i had an appointment with Dr T J Mcanallen who has been my doctor for a long time,They said he was no longer with them and i would have to see another doctor in the office. i did't want to see anyone different. if anyone knows what happened to Dr T J Mcanallen please let me know, i consider this man a friend also. Dr. TJ did indeed move onto Las Vegas to be with family....did not expect to leave his Boone practice so suddenly....send's his regrets to all of his dear patients for the sudden departure with no explaination...

I have to agree about the Hospital,I think everyone that lives here and has to use it hates the place,it is the worst i have have ever been in

i usually am easy going,went to see new doctor at Primedical Family Health Center don't waste your time unless you like to be insulted-I was told they do treat people with cronic pain even though i have 4 stints and a double bypass,and back problems,she didn't have time to read the records for telling me what she was not going to do to help the pain in my legs and back even though my legs swell and go numb and get as big as a football in my ankles and fells like a 1000 hornets stuck to them-they have left me stuck without anyone to rite refields for my heart meds these are some real careing people and they call themself high class doctors

I heared that he was under investigation for his sloppy Rx abuse of pain killers.

Well I know for a fact that he did not up and move his family to Vegas. He is currently in a boat load of trouble related to drug and alcohol abuse. He may be in Vegas but if so, that is where he chose to undergo treatment. He sure isn't working there as an MD.

amen. if I ever needed to go to the emergency room I would go to Blowing Rock...atleast they dont make you sit there dying for 10 hours while the doctors are just sittin around doing nothing. Plus, every employee I've ever met that works at the hospital, HATES it.

I know his family personally & know for a fact that he is moving to Vegas to open his own practice & to be with his family.

Well I work in the health care field in Boone... I know what I was told. Plus, doctors with "roots" and long term relationships with patients do not just up and move their practice without as much as a "goodbye letter" or announcement in the local papers... I would like to say that I was misinformed but honestly I am not surprised.

someone ask what kinda trouble i had with the hospital--the last heartattack i had i was in the er at boone i found myself with a note stuck to me from the boone hospital telling the hospital in johnson city where i was being taken to,that is where my heart doctor is at, that i hecp C and was a dibetic,so they checked me at johnson city and they said whoever did the test at boone must have bumped their head---because i was not a dibetic---and did not have hept C--but now they have me listed in the county as to having hecp C thanks to the hospital at boone.now when i have to see adoctor they all try to treat me like some kinda junkie---that is where i met T J and started seeing him,he was 1 of a kind he always treated me like someone and didn't look down his nose to talk to me,he would look me straight in the eye like a real man does.i am almost 60 years old and he was the finest doctor i have ever been to. i hope he does well at whatever he does in this life.Best wishes and good luck Doc

Dr. TJ is and will always be the best doctor that Boone had ever seen. Pri-medical is not the same without him and personally, I have no use for the place anymore. I have saw 2 of the other doctors there and neither of them have impressed me. They just want their money and you out the door pretty much. I will have you know, I work in the medical field in Boone as well and it is for the Hospital. Watauga Medical has its good days and bad days and I believe it is all about who is working when you have to visit that makes it either a good or bad experience. People make a difference in the medical field and when doctors are rude and hateful, patients just don't want a part of that. I can't blame them because I would be the same way. I hope that future visits to the WMC will be more pleasent and helpful for those who have experienced negative attitudes. However, back to Dr. TJ, I am not sure if he has moved but he will still be able to practice medicine as an MD. He did have a slight problem while employed at Pri-medical and did do something that he should not have but it did not ruin him from ever practicing again. We will never see another doctor like him again and personally, no one will ever be as good as him. I miss him terribly and if I new he was practicing somewhere else, I would just about go wherever he is just to see him again. He is great person and an excellent doctor!!!

I feel the same way!I am sicker over him leaving than the 5 engagment rings I've giving back! I also checked on plane tickets to Vegas. Ha Ha I will go where ever he is to see me too.

To Unreliable Sorce, I was a patient for 9 yrs, and in that 9 yrs. the only pills i was ever giving or writing' so we are clear 'was antivert for vertigo.
