There is a difference between being fired and not being reappointed. WCSO lost a great guy.

I think there are other plans for such a great person as Jason. Good things yet to come for this person.Change is sometimes necessary and important for the "next big thing" to happen in our lives.

He was let go according to LD because the office didn't know how to act around him because he was called to preach. Can anyone say "discrimination" for religious reasons. LD what a nice upstanding guy. He don't know how to act around a preacher.

Jason is a good man. Ive known him 30+years and personally think he is much too good of a person for that job anyway. Hes where he should be now. He told me himself he'd planned on surrendering to the church before any of this ever happened. The last thing the SD needs is a honest man behind a badge. There are a few more up there. I hope they stay were they are. They're the ones keeping us safe.

LD is definitely not the person that the establishment in Boone think he is. He let Jason go because Jason knew big dirt on him. LD its coming back to you.

Sounds like he got let go because he decided to be a preacher instead of working for the Sheriff's Dept. What's the big deal here?

If Jason had been preaching and quoting scripture at work it would be different although some of them need it.

Being a preacher is a calling, not a career. People still have to work to make a living. Sad situation it sounds like to me. How can an employer make a man decide between his calling and livelihood? It would seem that having a preacher working within a law enforcement agency would be a good thing. Something just isn't adding up. Doesn't sound as if Jason had a choice in the matter. God is in control.

He was never given a choice, he was told that he was being let go because some people in the office didn't know how to act around him since he has been called to preach. Wonder what was going on in that office. I can't believe that we have officers that has to act differently around clergy than they do in the public.

Nothing more then a phone call to say you wont be reappointed. No other reason given but the ministry. Im sure there are some LD fan club members trolling this site by some of the comments. Im sure he doesnt feel the need to explain himself to us everyday people that elect and pay him, but Ill bet he'll do some talking when its Mrs. Fox on the other end of the line. Pick up the phone and do whats right people. Jason may not want that job back, but this should not be swept under the rug. Whats next?

Oh please, cut the drama!

Everyone at the sheriff's department serves at the pleasure of the sheriff. He can hire or fire or not re-hire whomever he chooses. Period.

Just like Diane Deal.....she chose to "not to rehire" Stacey when she took office, even though Stacey was excellent at her job. That was a real disappointment to me after I had voted for Diane. It never occurred to me that she would get rid of a competent employee with a 6 month old baby so she could re-hire someone from the old days. But that's just the way it is when you work for an elected official.

Sorry I don't do the lay down and take it from people that work for "me" thing. These people can explain their actions if nothing else. I understand how it works anonymous.. I can't argue with the Clerk BS because that's exactly what it was. You're right about this being a right to work state. Although as elected officials these people are responsible for explaining their actions to the community who elected, and pay them. No ones saying he didn't have the right to do what he did, but many would like to know the reasoning behind his getting rid of a good cop when there are so many that we could do without, and they have every right to do so. Hes not the manager at McDonalds, hes the Sheriff and he is a servant of the community.

This means that WCSO only has 2 detectives in that whole division Rominger and lentz. I hope there is nothing to be investigated. May be LD with his years of cable company and street department expierience can do the job.
