Cut the Bull!
Yes you keep your benefits for four months, but when you do finally get a pay check. Guess What? Your pay check may be only a hundred dollars, because you have to pay back the UP what it cost them to pay for your insurance. So, you don’t work for four months, then you finally get back to work, but don’t get a check for a month or two because you have to pay back the railroad for their benefits they keep on your behalf . Don’t fall for taking our your unemployment, because that is you retirement fund. You pull it our of your own retirement fund, then have to regrow what you took out.
They suggest to get another job! Well, enjoy making a house payment, then making a vehicle payment and a cell phone bill on seven dollars and hour. That doesn’t even include you other monthly bills. You have to have a vehicle, cell phone, and internet to be hired by the UP, but they don’t reimburse you or give you an allowance to have them. Then here is the real kicker, if you take another job that doesn’t allow cell phones and the railroad happens to call you, you get a no call and can eventually get fired even if you are on the bump board.
Well from a family of seven that are laid off from the UP, that has two children that need minor surgery’s. I can only say a lot of bad words, towards the UP and the UTU that cannot seem to get equal pay or get the new railroaders that the FRA made the UP hire back to work.

So, how much of a bonus will the banking operations managers get as a result of screwing the TE&Y crew out of legitimate claims all year?

A lot of money, they should have to pay the TE&Y crew interest. There is a reason the UP pays their employees on the 10th and 24th. The sad thing is, is that the BLE and the UP local reprsenatives usually fight and nothing can get resolved. I really wish someone would stand up to them and go after their paychecks, for not doing what their members want done and running it their way. Maybe if someone sewed them for their paychecks for false claims and non action, they would decide to actually listen to the members and do what they want done.
