Way too many people with little or no real knowledge of the subject are trying to way in on hunting and population control. Just for a minute, forget that you live in a dream world. The deer will starve to death, the dear will be sickly, the deer will die in or near the lake and the polution will create a whole new problem. You dont like guns, you dont like bows and you dont like hunters. OK. That is your choice. Here in lies the difference between progressive liberals and real people. If I dont like a book, I dont read it. If you dont like a book, you want it banned so no one can read it. The people of Shawnee Mission could have sold deer tags for this event and made money from it, but no, you chose to pay overtime and buy special equipment so that snipers have to kill the deer. Good job, now shut up.

Whoa...put down the ignorance and pick up a dictionary.

The people that are protesting this are so far left I wouldn't come close to calling them liberals. Some of them associate with groups suspected of domestic terrorism. Secondarily, would you trust John Q Public with a rifle in your backyard? Do you really want to fund the liability for such? Pull out your trusty solar-powered calculator and do the math.

There's nothing liberal about that.

I'm Vaugn Cornish. I wear a 10 gallon cowboy hat, and I hunt deer. If the park would have sold a specific number of tags to experienced bow hunters, this wouldn't be an issue. They would have made a saddlebag full of cash, and we could have silently and efficiently harvested deer from the herd in about a week. Paying overtime for snipers to shoot the deer is plumb crazy. Bows are silent, safe, and efficient. As far as the protesters, go get in your BMW and cry. Because you're about to run over a deer anyway. I'm Vaughn Cornish. Thanks for listening.

There's something really ironic about a CPA taking a swipe at someone driving a BMW.

I don't discount your idea about bow hunting, and in the future it's an idea worth looking at. However I seriously doubt that a limited group of bowhunters can efficiently reduce the deer population from it's current state in a quick amount of time. To do so would require people stacked up on top of each other out there.

Car or rifle as long as another deer is taken out who really cares. As long as it is not my car.

I don't hunt deer, but I understand the need to manage herd size. For all those who don't, here's some perspective. Go buy a 1 gallon fish bowl. Pick out 30 goldfish and put them in the bowl. Watch them slowly die off. Watch the toxins put into the water from dead fish kill off others. If you do nothing all of the fish will soon die. If you diligently remove corpses and change water to clear toxins, what you'll have left in the end is maybe 3 goldfish. That is the sustainable population for a 1 gallon bowl.
Same for the deer in the park. There is a sustainable number of deer per park acre. Any more leads to famine, disease, and slow painful death for the herd.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Leo

If there have been slight tensions or frictions between you and a loved one recently, this is the perfect day to get them out into the open, thrash them out and then forget about them. Things could get quite heated in the process but don't worry because they'll work out all right in the end. Put as much energy into kissing and making up as you did in arguing!
