My heart is and always has been with the classroom teachers. Wanna know what this system needs? Ask a teacher. You might want to ask in privite, however, and the reason goes without saying.

I don't like the idea of voting "against" someone, but that is exactly what I have been advised to do if the present administration backs a candidate. Past history speaks for itself.

I have lived in Holmes County for many years. I have met and know of Mr. Brown and Mr. Dixon. I don't know the other candidates. My husband and I are currently undecided about who we are going to vote for.
My concerns about Mr. Buddy Brown is that he is best friends with former Superintendent Steve Griffin (just ask him). The talk is that when Superintendent Cook is voted out of Washington county, her political friends will be forced out with her - including Mr. Griffin. They will need jobs and I promise some of them, including Mr. Griffin and possibly Ms. Cook will land in high positions in Holmes County. Anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves. These two former superintendents were not voted out after one term because they were doing a good job. They both walked into the office with personal political agendas and hurt their counties.
Mr. Brown is a good guy, but the baggage he will bring with him will only hurt the district and Steve Griffin will be running the show in the same way Mrs. West has been for the past 4 years. Vote with your heart and your head, but be an informed voter. A vote for Buddy Brown is a vote for Steve Griffin for superintendent. If Mr. Griffin wants to be superintendent he should run again, but he won't because he would never stand a chance. I do not even believe that Mr. Brown's heart is in this race. Mr. Brown, if your heart is not in this for the children please drop out of the race. Please do not let our district will suffer for the personal gains of others.
If Steve Griffin is suupporting Brown, He's in trouble. The man got embarreassed when he ran.

My family lives and works in Chipley and the people over there support Mr. Griffin. He gets paid more in Washington County and loves his job. He wouldn't come back if they begged him. I'll vote for Buddy just because he has been a great principle here at PDL and believe me his heart is all about the students. He treats everyone the same and I like that.

Just as soon as they change Supt., Griffin will be out of a job. How does your family live in Chipley and go to school at PDL? Mayby, you should get your lies straight.

Wow, thats harsh. I live in PDL or near it and my kids are going to PDL as did most of us. I have family in Chipley. There's a road called hwy 90 that goes from one to the other and somehow they wandered over there I guess.

Wow, thats harsh. I live near Bonifay and MY family does also. I HAVE family in Tallahassee and thats off hwy 90. Their is a difference in "my family than have family" Most likely, you have family besides PDL and Chipley, I guess. Still think the writer was lying. Probably a big Griffen fan who wants another admin. job in the county. We all know how that works.

Oh griffin will be in a high place in holmes county if brown is elected and he will be running the schools. he will keep a low profile then his name will be added to the hire list moments before a school board meeting and pushed through before anyone notices. Save this post and read it again if brown gets elected it is EXACTLY how it is gonna happen.

I like what people are saying about Buddy Brown bringing in Griffin and his political friends People need to know this! I think the ONLY reason Buddy Brown is going for superintendent of Holmes County School at all is because he can give his unemployed friends top county jobs. I think that John has it correct when he says that it will happen in secret before anyone knows it. that is because Mr. Brown knows that it will be an unpopular decision. No one will hear hide nor hair of Griffin or any other Washington county washouts until they show up with powerful high-paying jobs in our county. the political appointments that come in like Griffin are widely despised but they are the type of people who don't care and are only on a power trip. Cook fired some good people in Washington county and replaced them with her incompetent friends that is part of why she being run out (are you listening Mr. Brown?). If Buddy Brown is elected those incompetents will be coming to Holmes County courtesy of Superintendent Buddy Brown. If Griffin can convince Buddy Brown to run for superintendent he can also control him once he is in office. Steve Griffin and not Buddy Brown will be controlling Holmes County Schools.
Note to Buddy Brown: Steve Griffin doesn't mind destroying your reputation in this county for his own personal gains. yeah that is some friend right there!

I don't know any of the candidates personally, but it seems as though Terry Mears is the only one without an ax to grind. I think many Holmes County folks would agree that drastic changes are necessary in our school system. We need someome who understands the workings of the classroom, and is capable of exercising actual leadership skills. Power does not equal wisdom. In fact, power can be detrimental in the wrong hands. Past history will verify that.

Yeah were scared. Scared that a man will get elected to run our school district and bring in a bunch of useless power hungry friends who can't hold a job longer than 4 years with political adgendas and personal vendettas. I don't have a problem with brown I have a problem with his friends.

Sorry, but that saying makes absolutely no sense! Mr. Mears is not an unknown. I believe he is a Holmes County native, if indead that is important. Besides, would it be a cotton pickin crime if we elected an (perish the thought) outsider? Are we, in this county, so backward that we can't envision improvement? I don't think you speak for the whole of the employees of this school system.

Why would I lie? I have no stake in this. If Buddy leaves my kids might get a crappy Principle. Still I think he's best for the job. To make it real clear to you my sister and her kids live in Chipley. They go to schools there. They go to church there. They hear good things there. We live in PDL and graduated here. We means me and my immediate family plus my folks. We like Buddy and will vote for him. I have cousins in New york and I dont guess they care one way or the other. We have family in a lot of places. There is ONE reason Buddy Brown is running for superintendent of Holmes schools to give his friend Steve Griffin a high paying and powerful job in this county. You are really clueless if you think steve griffin won't be working in this county and bringing in his loser friends who can't hold jobs longer than 4 years! Just watch you will all see! Too bad for buddy becase in 2016 he'll be out too but not before his friends completely trash our schools and drive out some really good folks like they did in washington county. LISTEN UP PEOPLE! THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO WERE RUN OUT OF HERE 4 YEARS AGO AND RUN OUT OF WASHINGTON COUNTY THIS YEAR! NOW BUDDY BROWN IS GOING TO SNEAK THEM BACK IN OUR DISTRICT AGAIN AND MAKE FOOLS OUT OF EVERYONE WHO VOTED FOR HIM! VOTE FOR ANYONE EXECPT BUDDY BROWN!!!

Are you blessed because you live in PDL or that you have family in New York City? What do they think of Griffin. I'm proud most of my family lives in Holmes County and we WILL be voting for Eddie. Griffin broke the county for four years. We can NOT afford anymore!!!Got beat by nearly 1000 votes, why would he think he could come back and be popular now.
