Dixie Youth Baseball Hopeless

They should just let the whole thing just die out. They have ran good people off, and the people running it are doing a horrible job. I hate it for the kids. But what are they learning???? Nothing.... Whatching the parents, coaches and board members act like idots. I went to watch the games friday night, and oh my god what a bunch of lunatics. It made me so sad for the kids of tomarrow to see grown adults acting the way they were acting. What a good example you folks are setting for your kids. Man they are only 9 and 10 year olds. If I was the umpire I would just let them do their thing and never ump again. He was babying the parents and coaches he could't even keep his mind on the game. If there was a bad call(and there wasn't) he missed it due to the fact the parents and coach(which need a rule book to read)was screaming at him the whole time. So as I sign off for the night, I will pray for the children of the parents who are hopeless and beyond help, that they do not grow up like their parents. Hopefully God will make this the last year for Dixie Youth Baseball until the right people can step up and do it for the right reasons......THE KIDS.........

I'm not trying to be mean or ugly .. But I have to agree with our County Commissioners
We don't need a county administrator that's what we elected our County Commissioners for. This was something Raymond Thomas concocted before he was defeated in the past election. If I'm not wrong Mr. Thomas & Mr. Wood set down and wrote their own little contract while Mr. Woods was being hired, In fact I do believe theres a little clause in the contract that states If we the good people of Holmes County decided we didn't like the job Mr. Woods was doing and decided to remove him from this job the county would have to continue to pay Mr. Woods until his contract was up. Now wasn't that nice of Mr. Raymond Thomas He was definitely looking out for the county's interest, Right or was it his good ole buddy Mr. Woods he was looking out for. I think the answer is right there in black and white don't you. I'm very hopeful that our County Commissioners will resolve this unnecessary problem and send Mr. Wood's back to Walton County.
Mr. Woods little cheering section is lighting up this blog and at the BOCC meetings And todays paper. But your only a handful. County Commissioners stand your ground your doing the right thing. Jim King I have known you all my life I went to school with you, your a fine person and doing a good job for the County. Phillip & Ron stand your ground, theres more Holmes County people behind you than think. Don't let this very small handful of Wood supporters stop you or scare you. Like Former Sheriff John Braxton said. I too am out and about in the county what he said is true. People know that Mr. Woods is trying to tear our County apart. He don't want to lose his job but he sure don't mind working his butt off to make other people lose theirs. This was Mr. Woods and Raymond Thomas plan from day one Only Mr. Thomas got booted out of the game Had he not been This would be a real mess right now. These two men planned & wanted to gain control of the County. Thank God for Ron Monk. BTW Wanda Stafford has worked her butt off for this County. Thank you Wanda.

You must be kidding. No I guess you are serious. As far as a clause in the contract that allows the "good people" of Holmes County to have a say, that is bogus. How do you decide who is the 'good" people and who are the "bad"? i betcha we have different definitions on that.
Former Sheriff Braxton is just looking out for his own interests. He thinks if he comes out with this insight, people will think he is in the know. So sad.
I am out and about... who isn't? There aren't many hermits in the county these days. I guarantee you I know Jim King better than you. We are kin. But that doesn't mean he's right in this situation. If Shep Eubanks, Bob Jones and Mr. Jenkins all say we need to keep the guy, we need to keep the guy. Do you really think a few lazy county workers who know a little about a few things know more than these guys? They are three of the most respected people in the county. Monty Merchant, I would think you would have enough sense to listen to them. If Jim, Monty and Kenneth would stop and think about the true good of the county, they can out vote the other two.
We are not a small handful. I've never met the man personally because i dont have to meet "important" people to feel important. I am a literate person who knows how to sort through the facts.
The fact is that if anybody wants to gain control of the county it is people like former sheriff Braxton. I heard he wants to be the next county administrator. Sit back and watch him start "campaigning" for it.

Jim King, Monty, & the rest of you County Commissioners stand your ground you guys know your making the right decision ... Jim, I have kin folks .. That don't know nothing about me .. Let the County Commissioners decide what's best for Holmes County.

If its a lie that he wants the job he needs to talk to the folks at the coffee shop and tell them. As for Jim, I know him a lot better than you. We are close but he is wrong about this. he is a good man and is listening to the wrong people. Now you mention my panties being in a wad- that would make me a transvestite. Shep has earned the right to speak. He speaks up for the farmers and kids of the county every day. He has what they call experience. Bob Jones knows the ins and outs of county business. He is a grant writer. He knows what costs us money and what saves us money. Tom Jenkins has been in business longer than I've been alive. He is respected all over the panhandle. He speaks up for our county. Thats what makes them experts.
If this as 1989, John might know a good deal about the county. this is 2009.

It don't matter what year its in ... It could be 2010, that don't have anything to do with it. John Braxton has devoted as much time, help and concern for this county and the people in it as the other men you speak of. Just because he is retired don't make him any less a spokes person for this county than the other three.. He don't agree with the other three, so that makes him and the commissioners bad to the bone .. No it doesn't. He went to the meeting as a spokes person for a lot of us Holmes County Citizens because we ask him too.. The reason he was ask to go on our behalf , he's a respectable caring person and has worked hard for this County for many many years ... My meaning behind " hope you age well " you accused John of wanting Mr. Woods job .. He does not want it .. Your stating a fact that's not true .. That's what I said .. If your waiting for John to campaign for Woods job .. You will grow old waiting ..

Thats not true, Church and state dont mix. It was the preacher who got involved and tried to control everything... U need to know the inside facts of everything.

Preach and 1loudmouth....I was involved with Dixie Youth for about 17 years. So I do know the inside FACTS,and what happened with the church. Had my life threatened for sticking up for the kids and going against the church, and blah blah blah. I'm not talking about all that, you can only beat a dead horse for so long. It is what it is. I'm talking about how the parents where acting in front of children. How does that go back to the church and state? Everybody has to answer for their own actions. I say it is no good for the children. The people running it, they are coaching also, and are acting this way. It is child abuse. What I seen the officials should of been called and someone should have went to jail.

the russ's havent been out there the last two years dixie youth made some good changes on there board they got some people who acually care about kids not money you should see major changes this year

I agree with the last post. Clint Russ has not been on the board for at least 2 or 3 years and they had more sign ups when him and the others were on the board than they have since those board members left. The mess was made with several that have been on the board since then. This year should look more promising and people should see changes because the board now is filled with parents who want to get it back to the way it was when those others like Russ was on the board and make it even better than that. I have heard several ideas that the new board has and I like it!
