Has anyone in the area seen any Hummingbirds this year? My usual gang of 5 has failed to appear even though my feeders have been in place since May. Hoping the drought last year didn't decimate the population.

I know a guy who has been on a campaign trying to get those things to all die out. He is poisoning their water supply and stealing their women. HE must be Stopped!

I noticed I've been trapping fewer of them this year. It could be the drought.

It's hard for a blind man to feel the difference in a peacock and a feather duster.

1 female at my feeders. 3 years ago, I had 4 couples doing aerial kung fu fighting over feeder priority. CLL wrote: Has anyone in the area seen any Hummingbirds this year? Had 3 show up yesterday during the rain, looks like the pair moved on but one male has staked claim to one of the feeders. As for bees, I've noticed several of the huge honeybees out in the boonies north of Honey Grove. First bees I've seen up there in years. And of course the mud-daubers are busy mucking up everything they can get into. ;)

The temp is to hit 100 deg on the 24th-26th and they will show up in Bonham about then. When it gets into the triple digits the come to stay. The first ones I see each year are at Lake Bonham the they show up all around town.

I have seen only one .. I was standing in the flower bed...it flew right up, looked me in the eye and zipped away...guess I wasn't his type! We don't ever see them around here....it scared me at first...I thought it was a giant bee of some sort.
