KXII isn't releasing a name yet, but it was someone on North Shore Drive that was being served a warrant and got into a shootout with authorities and got killed.

According to the KXII website, names are not being released at this time. The website said that US Marshall's attempted to serve a warrant for a suspect at the location and the suspect opened fire on officers. The officers returned fire hitting and killing the suspect.

Yeah, good thinking. Get in a shootout with people whose job involves shooting people who try to get in a shootout with you. Odds are kind of against them.

Well, if the person was being served by the US Marshall's, they were probably about to go down bigtime for something and got desperate and wasn't in a clear thinking state of mind. Just pure speculation on my part obviously.

Are you also "abc"? Of course there is an investigation going on, there always is when law enforcement officials are involved in a shooting and especially when someone is killed.

"abc"; if in fact the person was your brother; I'm sorry for your loss.

Yet, it is difficult in this day and age to believe that a U.S. Marshal would randomly open fire on an innocent person; much less any other law enforcement officers.

I suspect, that if you are in MD as the post suggests, then it is obvious why you believe that all law enforcement people are corrupt and they can't just be doing thier job.

The truth is, as hard as it is to believe, that in 99.9% of all law inforcement shootings, it was the other guy that shot first. Don't you think that the men and women in uniform have familys too? Have loved ones too? Would you rather they stood there and became another law enforcement official to be buried by their families?

I am sorry for your loss; and I'm sure it is hard to believe; yet it is what it is.

Please don't use this forum to bash any one that expresses their view of a news story. The previous "Anonymous" said it well, there will be an investigation - especially at the Federal level - rightly so. I'm just exceedingly happy that those who try to protect us from criminals can go home safely tonight.

But you (of course) are just as predisposed to believe otherwise. Thats pretty evident. Maybe you also need to wait before insinuating his innocence.

Also, just so everyone knows, it wasn't a US Marshal that shot him. It was a Plano PD officer and a Texas DPS Trooper. US Marshals were with the task force that was on scene serving the warrant. And, the bad guy doesn't have to point a gun at the police first. If he makes a move towards the gun, the officers are justified in using lethal force. No police officer goes to work wanting to shoot anyone. It's just part of the reallity of the job. Those officers have a duty to serve the public and the responsibility to their families to come home!!! The bad guy made the decision that caused his death. Those officers just reacted to his threat and THANK GOD they are alive tonight with their families!!! Thanks for serving us!!!!
