Why does the local paper print "letters to the editor" in a format that makes it appear as if they are news articles written my reporters....on the front page, with by-lines, etc.???? It is deceptive and confusing because most people reading them assume they are reading a 'news article', a reporter's article reporting "facts" - however, what they are really reading is nothing but someone's personal opinion and their own version of 'facts as they see them'.

People have a right to state their opinions but they should be presented as opinions, not as a news story. The owners are doing a disservice to the community and to their own reputation as newspaper people.

I am also having problems flailing the chaff from the seed. When I grew up in the '50s and '60s, newspapers put on their masthead their primary biases. You could comfortably buy ANY newspaper, even those with which you had no political common ground and trust them, because you knew the bias that would be applied. In addition, when the bias got too blatant, there was an honest attempt to get an intelligent, cogent counter in the same edition.(No wonder us old-sters sigh about the good old days when ethics would not be jeopardized to gain advantage.)

To be honest, I do not remember any letters on the front few pages. These are most commonly editorials by the management, owners, and owners' cronies, passing as news journalism. It does get confusing. Especially when one staffer and one crony needs basic "News writing 101" lessons.(And yes, I know that there is a claim that the one crony who has been the most abusive of readers has had a charge made that he is really a co-owner. I have not been able to confirm that.)

Is this Sample lady that writes her constant negativity the same that was writing under Kepley? It has to be, their writing is the same. It's an opinion column that never seeme to investigate very far into things. Good thing they send it to me free, because I wouldn't pay a nickel for that paper.

Yeah, Ms. Kepley is now Mrs. Sample. Her fraudulent, felon husband works at the newspaper too since he lost his insurance license! Google Sample Insurance, Sherman, TX. She thinks she is an editor of a big city newspaper, but she doesn't write worth a flip!

397th state District Court

Donel Sample, 36, of Sherman, pleaded guilty to misappropriation of financial property more than $1,500 less than $20,000 and forgery of a financial instrument and was sentenced to two years state jail, probated for three years, and a $1,000 fine on each.

According to previously published information, Sample had turned himself in to Grayson County Jail on two warrants obtained by Grayson County District Attorney's Office investigator Mike Ditto, based on documentation provided by Texas Department of Insurance investigator Steve Richardson. Sample posted $10,000 surety bonds the same day and was released.

The court documents used to obtain the arrest warrants stated that one customer of Sample's insurance company claimed he twice discovered that his property wasn't covered, once when his house burned and the second time when the car he owned was involved in a wreck. The documents also stated that a second complainant claimed he discovered his vehicle wasn't insured after it, too, was involved in an accident. Both complainants told Richardson, according to the documents, that the company had supplied them with documentation that insurance was in place.

District Attorney Joe Brown said that the indictments alleged that Sample forged an electronic withdrawal form from the original complainant, and failed to bind insurance policies after being paid the premiums. The two charges are state-jail felony offenses, with sentences ranging from 6 months to two years for anyone convicted on that level felony, and/or fines.

DO NOT, I repeat, Do not cross the people around here who use to control everything around Fannin Co. because they controlled the single political party that the "sheeple" voted for. Now that elections are not decided way before the election, these people can only exercise sway by trashing anyone that disagree's with them in print. They will drag them, their spouses, their family, their business, anything near them into the sewer. Do not oppose their grand plans to make Fannin Co. a tourist mecca,or the Harvard of the southwest, or build school buildings Frisco ISD would dream of. You have been warned, now go back to your common lives and let these great people get busy... They have kingdoms to build and trains to run.

Okay I was at the wedding too I would like to know who you are. Apparently not a true friend seeing as how all the people invited were either family or people in their old church so you can just say whatever you want he's a great man and has more class than you will ever think about having
