Everyone in a school district can be reassigned without posting it except supt according to state law so Beaty can do as he sees fit without board approval.

And if you are one of his buddies you get a great gig and paycheck. I wonder if Rumor Has It cares to tell everyone how many people he interviewed for the job that went to the good friend?

Supt has done great job doing tasks that Cruse wouldn't touch. He should be applauded instead of blasted. Most of you people posting on here are clueless on how to run a school system

The board should have gone to Troup and checked out the man before they hired him. They deserved what they got

Fred, if that is correct, then I do stand corrected. Thank you. I still have to think that there is a more diplomatic way of conducting business! It almost feels like Beaty wants to make it very clear that he is charge and what he says goes, no questions. It all seems over the top and a bit much to just walk in and start making drastic changes all at once. I hear a lot of people grumbling about Cruse and "what he didn't do" while he was super for five years. Can someone enlighten me on why I've heard so much negative about Cruse?

Beaty can't spell the word diplomacy and doesn't know that it means. The Board will wind up paying him off in a year or two and we will be here to pick up the pieces. He doesn't care about the employees. Beaty is here for the paycheck.

He is in charge... surprised you didn't get the memo? The teachers do not run BISD.

I think that part of the problem is that Cruse and Beaty have different leadership styles and folks are having trouble adjusting to the changes. Just to clarify - I'm a BISD parent and not a BISD employee.) From what I have seen, seems like Cruse was the type of leader who solicited input from his staff, strived to empower and positively motivate them to do their jobs, and was always willing to listen. Beaty, on the other hand, seems to take a different approach. He has come in and made many changes without soliciting any input from his staff and has been a more authoritative figure who at times uses fear of losing one's job to motivate staff.

It is correct, and Beaty is in charge. It is about time someone came in and shook things up a bit! Of course everyone is going to hate him and want him gone. He will probably receive threats from parents and all sorts of stuff, because lets face the facts people CHANGE is something that is not of the norm in Fannin County. No matter who it is that moves in if they start making changes or pushing for a change they are "mindless idiots" and must be run out of town. Lets give the guy some time I personally having attended Bonham schools would never put my kids through school there. But who knows maybe once he is done I would consider it. I also don't think it is stupid for him to not uproot his family at this time. It is hard on kids hopping from school to school and who knows maybe he wanted to make sure yall weren't going to run him off in the first year before he did move them down. seems like a good call to me personally. This is all my opinion in which I am entitled too..... also when in the hell did Bonham school get RNs??? when I went there as a kid you had better hope whatever injury you got wasn't life threatening lol because our "school nurse" was also a chain smoking lunch lady. she was pretty awesome at handing out band aids and stopping the occasional bloody nose though so it wasn't all bad I guess. As far as the insulin shots and stuff like that. this is 2013 apple has got to have an App for that!.... lol jkjk

That is pretty cool, I did not know that I mean I have heard of schools having them but I figured that was just what nurse wanted to do was be a school nurse... Interesting! I wish I would have had one when I was in school. The lady in the office was are medical aid when I went to Sam Rayburn lol She was good though and she did all the stuff that has been mentioned in this thread medical wise.

Just an example: with a school nurse on-site, a diabetic emergency can be easily and quickly fixed without major expense to the student/parents. Without an on-site nurse, this situation quickly becomes life-threatening and expensive. In order to give IV "sugar" to an extremely hypoglycemic patient, one must be a paramedic or nurse (at the lowest level), so now there is a longer wait for an ambulance to arrive and get all of the patient's history (and diabetic emergencies are all about how quick the patient can be treated) as well as the patient or their parents getting an unpleasantly large bill from the ambulance service. There is legal precedent that reflects the fact that school districts have a responsibility to take care of their students and any medical emergencies that take place on campus. And no matter how good an athletic trainer may be at icing athletes knees and telling them to ride the bike for 10 more minutes, they are not able to do the more invasive, life-saving therapies that a nurse can.

I have heard many names tossed about as I read this site for the first time this day. I do not know many of the names I have heard. However, my heart is heavy because I understand that one of the Aides will not be coming back to the school in the fall. My son was having such trouble with reading when we first came to this school. Adjustment for children from a different ethnicity and background can be very hard at first. To help him with these problems he was assigned extra help in a lab type setting where there was more one on one with the teacher. He was blessed to be put with Mrs.Kelton.
I believe she was an Aide but I have since been told she actually has two degrees and a Masters in one of those. My children have been in a number of schools but never have they had someone as kind, dedicated and devoted to helping them learn as Mrs. Kelton. My question is why in the world would a school district let someone of this caliber of educator slip through their fingers? She was always open to any of my (sometimes strange) questions. We discussed the best avenues to help my son and his improvement was amazing under her guidance? Why is someone with this much knowledge, ability and education, an aide to begin with? I have been stunned by these attacks on this site and will probably never get on it again. But WHY aren't situations like this of Mrs. Kelton and others like her being addressed? I hear complaints from other people about their childrens teachers so why are they holding down jobs if they are not above standard, while dedicated and excellent quality people such as Mrs.Kelton allowed to slip away? Where we are from education is a gift. I think maybe in this country we have taken it for granted? We will miss Mrs. Kelton and all the other quality teachers who have been looked over for whatever reason? Thank you Mrs. Kelton from me and my children for your dedication to furthering the knowledge of our children.

According to school board agendas she resigned. But did she resign on her terms or was she forced to by the school district?

Too many names to mention from his last district, Troup. To dodge the school from having to buy out his contract, Troup school board made a "deal" with him just to run him out of their community. Troup school board begged certain community members to keep it hush hush, so bonham would not renig. Unethical as hell on both parts! Stand up and tell the truth and see what happens to you, but it's rewarding to do what's right. It will put you on his hit list but it is worth it. That is the only way to get rid of corrupt administrators. Keep quiet and you are agreeing with him to some degree, but to knowingly deceive honest Christian people like his last school board did and you are as corrupt as he is! Using power to get what you want is dangerous... Especially when kids are involved
