I have heard stories that Kankakee was a really nice place to live back in the 60's and 70's. Most of the people in the town were hard working and white. Then one day comes along where the town turned black.

Did the people in the projects up on the southside relocate to Kanakee? And why were they allowed to come to Kankakee? There are towns in this state that have put a stop to that. A year ago I was reading how there were certain people wanting low income housing in Evanston, and the towns board wouldn't allow it.

So why did the board on Kankakee allow low income housing ? They could have voted to say no to that knowing that low income housing creates an increase in crime and also ruins towns.

My granddaughters were trafficked in Kankakee County. Little girls. Babies really. 5 and 4 when it started. The sex offender was court ordered no contact. Yet when the girls had rape injuries testified to by a doctor, this sex offender was never stopped. The mother lied repeatedly, until she trafficked the kids to him in Texas, from Illinois, and all over the country. They are disgusting. they don't care. The courts, the judges, the Lisa Dugans, the state police, the city police, all corrupt. Disgusting. Raping kids and assisting a monster in doing that, is beyond hell.

Kankakee is a crap hole, then you got the metro bus giving transportation to the black crime so they can come to Bourbonnais and Bradley. At the mall, the blacks always steal and hit on young preteen girls. They constantly use slang and vulgar language around young children.

Lets band the metro bus from coming into our decent town and keep the crime in Kankakee.

The downfall of Kankakee has many factors.
Yes low income housing is one of the biggest. Because the drug dealers/ gang bangers take up most of the low income housing then the crime goes up. The cops see some 19 year old kid driving a $70k car who works part time a McD's and says "oh it's my mama's car"
whos mom makes $25K a year. And say well he'll be caught some day. Not to mention members of KMEG who themselves were busted for drug dealing.
Then these sudo businesses of car washes, car repairs, and barber shops who funnel the drugs and drug money. I've seen the post about drug testing and public aid. Maybe they should do that as well as look at assets. Do monthly inspections and figure out how is it that they need link card and public housing but are driving cars that range from $20k-$70k,$1200 tv's new furniture and expensive clothing.

I miss the old Meadowview Shopping Center. There were 4 grocery stores. On the corner across from the bank was a restaurant called Lums. That was a nice place to eat. I didn't go to the Little Corporal when Barry Manilow was playing there on the weekends, but I did enjoy prime rib once a year on my birthday. I also loved eating breakfast at Walgreens counter on the corner of Court and Schuyler. All of it--gone. My sister worked at Bear Brand Hosiery and my other sister worked at Sully's restaurant. We had so much fun at Cobb and Beckman Park in the summer. I lived on South Wildwood. I won't even drive through there today.

Not to mention the Starlite drive-in. you can barely tell where it once was except for one screen and you have to look for it or you will miss it.

Who's allowing the low income housing to be in Kankakee? Who?

It all started with the loss of the tradational blue collar jobs the loss of these in the 70's basically turned the town. The blacks lived in and around Hobbie and were basically in that area. White city was well known. It was an interesting time in Kankakee. All people basically knew their place. The poltics was crooked and the cops were the same. You could drive down the bad areas of town without issues, but today you need and armored car with gun turrents. Moved in 1977 and ain't coming back.

perhaps talking about the area as if it is already 'done' or 'extinct' or 'too late' is part of the problem.

there's a lot of lack of sanity, it doesn't matter what color you are.

there isn't a whole lot of activities to share together with sensible insurance measure that extends more than money or mentality or emotions.

just as much as a person will find a reason to leave, another person (or even the same person) will find a reason to walk up.
while one person prefers strong connections to repeat themselves, another person (or even the same person) will find a reason to want or need the repetitions to stop.

everyone knows what values are, regardless of whether the values are accurate or not.
(yet some people ignore values, regardless of knowing what they are and|or how accurate they are)
..and that opens up the opportunity for when people choose not to ignore the values, but there isn't anybody to share those values with.. once again revealing a large problem of neglect blanketing civilization.

it is torment to go outside and see people out in public where people are expected to conversate & communicate.. but then the problems with not enough time, or the wrong subject, or bad time of the day, or starting and not stopping (or stopping and not starting).

well..

people ignore values knowing what they are, but oblivious as to the accuracy.

you must know what values are because you choose what food you eat & you aren't poisoning yourself to death.. otherwise people would be mixing chemicals & cleaners with food carelessly simply because they are attracted (or opposed) to the reaction when digested.

an abundance of attitude is simply a sign showing there isn't anybody or anything to clean up the source of those attitudes.

before taking matters into your own hands, you must blame those advertised to do the job of calming chaos.

other problems are when people are sensitive, but they aren't accurate.

most people don't stick around long enough to note a pattern.

those that do stick around to note a pattern aren't always accurate enough to take valid notes.

there's a scale we all see of electricity from the mouth of expression showing the artistic side all the way down to the text & definition side.
we don't like to see waste from either side of the scale, or anywhere inbetween.

you might call me prejudice because i've noted more artistic scale from the kankakee neighborhood, while the text & definition scale comes from the bourbonnais neighborhood, not to say there is a mixture of the two in bradley area (or that i've had the time to look).
but both cultures should, could, and will need to look at the other culture (as well as their own) and see the beligerance & belittling they do to themselves, as well as others.

i fear the artistic side of the culture can clearly see how the text & definition side has been ignored and neglected (or power hidden in the shadows unable to escape into freedom).. and the only way to protest 'safely' any further is to go beyond the queer-ish aerobics already spewing from their mouths.

i always said if one side of the scale has jungle fever, it is because the other side of the scale had bookworms with rotten fruit.

the worry should be equal for both sides when questioning sanity & logic.
i think it is one side of the scale shows its energy, while the other side of the scale hides it.
neither side has reasoning behind it, as it usually floats around without getting organized.. but i do feel one side is more psychotic than the other.
and really i can flip between the two, because one can be filed as fun.. while the other can be filed as serious work.

but cause of attention to point at all in the first place?
i think allowing psychotic fun without any reason behind it spreads a virus faster, because it seems more attractive .. compared to the psychotic serious work.
because lets face it, confusion & stupidity shows itself every time a child is born & raised .. and sometimes those people continue to grow to adulthood without filling in the confusion & stupidity.
i'm not trying to imply psychotic has a place in areas of serious work, but i find it a bit hard to avoid or shake off the view.

there are far too many inclinations supporting the lifestyle of carefree (or care less) and splurge in the reward from ignorance, because what you don't know doesn't hurt right?

you can't attest carefree or care less will (perhaps always) be allowed in the workforce without getting fired.
i know a big fear that says some people need the parenting & schooling to happen at work because they didn't get it at home or at school, but the other half of the equation specifically aims itself towards the people who expect employees to earn their money rather than learn the value of life at the mental and|or emotional (or even financial) cost of somebody else (that somebody else usually the customer).
