Still married....he doesn't like the beach....we work together so we don't mind taking separate vacations.

Yes and no. No: I'm on the road alone praying fervently I don't have a flat tire, etc....eating out alone (I usually go at an off time and take my e-reader)...no husband on the beach with me to share a beautiful sunset. Yes: no cooking...I can eat when and where I like....I can shop as long as I want....no all-day tv set on loud+....no schedule....nice quiet, restful break from caring for an 88 year old mother and a husband who is 13 years older than I and talks ALOT about his hunting trips to Montana....not having to please anyone but myself for a week or two. Being at the beach is almost like a religious experience for me and I can be a bit of a loner so it suits me.

Sounds like you have a plan. I have a friend who goes to her brother's condo in Las Vegas once a year for a month to chill out and her husband goes to Argentina to hunt doves with a guide. Intermittent alternative lifestyle I guess. Leave some good weather in Tennessee--I'll be there in a couple of days.

The weather is crappy right now in West Tennessee...cold, rainy, and possibly some snow on the way....not sure about Middle and East Tennessee.....hope there's good weather for you...be safe.

Some places are good for a visit but not good as a permanent residence. Some people don't have the sense to realize that and buy a condo that takes four years to sell once they discover they made a stupid decision. Stupid is as stupid does.
