I lived in TN for 10 yrs. I have a Son and he got into trouble in school when he was 12yrs old. And they put him in the system. I went through hell for 6 yrs trying to get me son back. The judge in that town owns everything. And he owned the boy's too. Judge Andrew Jackson. The boy got out when he was 18 yrs old. He is almost 20 now and know's nothing. He can't making it out here in the real world because he is so use to the staff being right their telling him what to do. My prayers go out to you. And if you can get a lawyer then please do.

I am sorry if you were really that upstanding you would not know drug addicts and child abusers. I think Dickson County should be harder on these awful parents that don't take care of their own children and then want to cry about what a great person they are. The fact remains if you were a decent parent you would have never lost your child. Stay off drugs and for havens sake NO MORE CHILDREN

Funny how u brought up hating out of town lawyers, does it really matter? All courts should treat people fairly, so the sake of the child...

I know exactly what these parents are going through. Their is a case in Dickson Co Court now where the Grandparents are trying to take custody of the grandchildren because they are allegedly unsafe. The stranger thing is their is three and they only want one of them. This has been going own since OCT 09 all because the Grandparents know the Juvenile Judge and hired a high dollar lawyer. Their has never been anything fair about the Dickson CO court system. Believe me I have lived here all my life. This particular case I'm talking about is my brother and my niece obviously they didn't get enough of raising children when they raised theirs. I think this is part of the problem Grandparents today still wont to control their children and grandchildren. I got enough the first time how about you?

I am so sorry to hear that this is happening to others. My heart goes out to you. As for being called a drug addict,I am not. I also have two other children that the grandparents didn't want, they only wanted the one. I have never lost the other two, the are very happy and respectful children. The grandparents live in Dickson, we do not, they did it out of our jurisdiction. My childs grandparents have told him his siblings would be mean to him, that we don't love him like we love the others and so on..... It is so sad to know that a person would do that, but it goes to show what i am dealing with. My heart is broken and I now know by my own experience, that the law is not always on your side. My child will suffer and I have to sit back and watch it because there is nothing I can do.

I would ask for this to be moved out of Dickson County. You might call legal aid and get some advise. I can tell you this, Judge Jackson is not so innocent himself. On May 24th the court of Judiciary ordered a CENSURE on him for inappropriate behavior at a juvenile conference in Memphis TN. Their were complaints of racism remarks and and a pushing confrontation he was involved in then later at the same conference he ask a woman colleague to dance with him and she declined he made sexual remarks to her. He was ask to have a alcohol assessment and did this concluded that he did not need rehab at this time. He wrote letters of apology to the victims and faced no criminal charges. Just who we need to be looking after our children! Jenny I hope you didn't make this comment knowing this information because that makes you sound silly obviously you been in the Bluff to long. To the parent I would like to talk more in depth with you I might can be of some help.

Thank you for your interest. I really appreciate this. Everytime we try and talk to anyone about this, no one returns our calls. Mr. Garton has been of no help at all. He is working closely with the grandparents attorney, and never has anything to say to us. The grandparents took my child for a visit and the next morning we received a phone call telling us to be in court in less than 4 hours, they did an emergency something or other. That is how they got it in Dickson county. My child knows he must do what his grandparents say or else, so when he is asked questions in front of them, he knows what to say. Just like his father and Uncle did when they were kids. He wanted to come back home and I told he we would get an attorney and told him this would get rough. Then when his grandmother found out he called me the next day and changed his mind. Haven't talked to him in one year today. This is how long we have been trying to get this solved. The grandparents are now trying to terminate our rights, they have absolutely know reason for this, except that they want my child. I am being very honest in what I have said, I am not a drug addict, don't drink alcohol and my husband makes a very good living. These people are sick!!! I don't know what to do, and it seems outrageous to know the court and Mr.
Garton are doing what they are. Feel stripped of my rights and as far as i'm concerned my child has been kidnapped and there's not a thing I can do about it.

Don't say you cant do anything, you cant give up you have to fight more than ever. You bet it will get ugly but thats part of the Christian persecution we have hear on earth. Have you ask for a court appointed lawyer most likely he will deny this but you can try. You can also appeal his decision to higher court but you are going to need an attorney. Not only would I call legal aide but contact the Bar association, and the Court of Judiciary and let them know you want to file a complaint on Judge Jackson. Another point is the next time you go to court hire your own court reporter to be there when the hearing is going on that way you will have independent documentation on what is said in the court room and if this all seems unfair you have something to take to a higher court or the Court of Judiciary about Judge Jackson. He is less likely to to treat you unfair if he knows that he is being taped by someone other than Dickson County's Reporter. This is expensive but will be worth the expense. Let me tell you another part of the scenario my brother is a practicing Oxycontin addict and has been in trouble several times, even with the TBI and my niece has never been arrested for anything. The whole issue sounds so similar even down to Jack Garton. My brother also coaches his granddaughter as to what to say. Its amazing how children figure out fast what the best thing to do. In this case the child is being bought with presents a 10 year old has her own cell phone. Let me know if you would like to meet sometime and we can talk further. I can tell you some horror stories about Dickson County Juvenile court. I would be interested in knowing about the grandparents and who they are and who they know I know why my brother is getting special treatment.

Jina, thank you so much, you can't understand how i feel to know that someone understands and doesn't think my husband and I must be drug addicts or something. We are not. We do have an attorney, not from Dickson, we understand that was not a good move on our part. We have been told that the grandparents have already run ads in the Dickson paper for adoption. How can they do that? We have been trying to get to court for a long time, the last time, it got cancelled because of the flood. We were not informed of the cancellation until 1 hour before court was to begin, we were on our way through back roads and everything. The grandmother told my child at dinner one night you know your daddy does drugs don't you. He does not. This is what we are dealing with. We don't live in Dickson, and we have gotten a reporter for the depositions,EXPENSIVE, but your right you can't put an amount on your children. We have been told that we will lose our case. Can you imagine how that feels, as you know drug addicts do keep their children, we are upstanding people in our community, our two other children make good grades are activly involved in sports and are loved very much. It amazes me how this could happen and has happened. Their attorney is also a judge in Dickson and coaches for my sons baseball team and knows we have been actively involved with our son but yet when he questioned us in depositions he acted as if he had never seen us before. Mr. Garton has never wanted to speak with us, we have tried to talk with our son, they will not answer the phone, had his cell phone cut off or changed number, we wanted to talk with my son in Mr. Garton office without the grandparents and still nothing. The next time I am in Dickson, I will let you know, you don't know what this means to me to know someone is trying to understand. I will pray for you, because you did something nice for someone you don't even know. GOD BLESS YOU...

To Parent: Maybe you should file a complaint with the State District Attorney and file ethic complaints with the Bar Association against the attorney(s). Also another move judges & lawyers don't like is media coverage and Dennis Ferrier (channel 4 Nashville) & Brett Frazier (Channel 5 Nashville) are good ones to start with. If what you say is true what you've been doing is not working so why not move on up on the ladder to their superiors? You still have the option of filing an appeal, if a decision has been made concerning the custody of your children, with the Tn. Supreme Court. If I was in your situation, the first thing I would do is contact Dale Quillen Attorney in Nashville first to discover what options I had. He's like the Ben Matlock of Attorney(s).

This is what has happened to my niece. Jack Garton is less than perfect himself and she has been unable to talk with him too but the grandparents can talk to him anytime they want to with the children present. This is what happens when you can be a real attorney they assign you a job because the judges are attorneys. I dont know that the out of town judge is a bad idea but I would definetly want one that is more aggressive. I will suggest a lawyer I'm not sure what all cases she takes but she is persistent dont give another penny to an attorney you dont like they will milk you dry. You are paying for his services and I would let him know he is your employee. The attorney's I have in mind is Jennifer Roberts in Dickson and Irene Haude in Nashville. I believe women are better attorney's in these cases anyway. The concerned has a great idea I believe I will tell my niece this too. By the way Ms Haude works in Dale Quillen firm. Thanks comcerned.

Just an FYI....Jackie Garton is one of Judge Jackson's Boys.

They meet at his farm every weds night in Cheatam County and have a great time.

I would be very wary of them....
