Oh my god! Why doesnt Sissy Bailey just give it up! I personally like the trail, I think its going to be a great thing for the community, and what does she got to hide that she doesnt want anybody coming through "her" property, dear god woman get the hell over it, the town of Saltville has done a great job making the trail into what it is now, making the tressels suttable to walk across and everything! good job Saltville!

Things are just now getting interesting. Me myself, I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way. You can't get by with doing others wrong but so long and than real justic is served.

You hang in there Sissy, you deserve justice! Perhaps GETTING OLD would like to invite us to his back yard and take a hike around his property. LOL. I bet this person is saying there will be no days like that. So why should Ms. Bailey allow strangers near her family. If the town had waited till this was settled in court the town wouldn't have spend this money on the trail not knowing how this court action will turn out. If the people of Saltville want something to do, I would suggest you get your lazy behinds out and do some work or better yet do some volunteer work. I bet this would get you in shape!

Did the city use an eminent domain law to seize a section of his or her land? Did the city first try to buy his or her land? Could the city have went around his or her land with the trail? I consider my property private and your best bet is not to be on it for your own safety.

initial read- the railroad got a "right of way", the question is what does that mean. Can the RR sell that "right of way"? Did the original landowners that made this agreement receive anything in exchange for granting this "right of way"?

This is making for good case law. Some legal battles go back to king's grants and the like. I say Hang in There Sissy!!

I don't know that she is opposed to the trail, just the benefit gained from the rr. I need to read up on in more. But hey, two things we know about these parts - you don't go messing around with a man's property, but we need a way to get some more economic development.

How can the town of Saltville own someone else Land. That's what I want to know. If this is true. Than anybody from any town could own my land. So why do we pay taxes on something if we don't own it. I don't see how the Town of Saltville could own all of these people's land in Washington County. These people have payed taxes on this land for years. So does this mean that anyone can come and take our land away from us that we have paid
taxes on..

Exactly! This is why this wasn't disposed of in trial court - there is an issue to be resolved. It will make for good case law. Again, I don't know she is opposed to the conversion, it's the money exchanged and maybe liability. I don't know that any noise might be greater than the railroad.

Let me ask everyone that reads here - have you ever been on that trail?

I really wouldnt mind, the people could charge for camping, ect. Ms. Bailey's family? i guess by that you mean the misguided Archie. yeah thats right, Id about say he had something to do with the tressle that got burned during construction, do volunteer work, I do volunteer work, with which agency I run at Ill will not reveal it, just because we enjoy walking on the trail, doesnt mean that we all are out of shape, but she is throwing a big hissy fit over a peice of property thats about six foot wide by a half mile of so long, I just dont get it, taking a court case all the way to the virginia supreme court, why waist everyones time, what if she doesnt win, I guess National Supreme Court here she comes, Id say that its something else thats killing her livestock, I know Several people that have property along the trail, that have livestock and they havent had any die over the proclaimed chemicals that are in the ground, Im sure they have hauled alot of different chemicals along that 13 mile strech of track, but I would say that nothing much ever leaked, the virginia creeper trail was a heavily used peice of track, and we dont here of any chemicals leaking and being harmfull along that strech of track.

OH, you of little minds! Did you ever think that maybe the Creeper Trail didn't have the chemicals on it like the one in Saltville has had? I wouldn't want the likes of some of your town folks in my back yard, just like you wouldn't want me in yours! By-the-way I hope you don't volunteer with spelling bees.

Is this Sissy a little butch looking? Just asking.

I am a tad confused. It is the chemicals that traveled the railway that isn't used anymore that she is objecting to? Or turning the right of way over to someone else? I need to read more about this unless somebody can bring me up to speed.

Mommaw and Gump I would like to know just what have you ever done or given to your town. Probably nothing, but you would take off someone else even though they live in another county. From what I've read you cann't even keep the people there from stealing the signs around town. I'm still unsure if any of you are productive citizens, or if you just feel that you are entitled to Ms. Bailey's property. I guess you feel it is better to take off her than get out and work what you desire!

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Taurus

This is a day for turning your attention to your finances, especially if you're currently working on the budget for domestic improvements or changes. Talk to the other people concerned and really listen to what they're saying. They'll have some great insights. It will be far more productive to work as a harmonious team rather than as warring factions.
