When the school committee starts getting involved in the day to day operations that make a school work, like moving teachers around if they feel that's the best move for the district overall, they are overstepping thier bounds. I don't know this committee personally but most have no ecucational background or have ever worked in a school to know what it's really like in the trenches everyday, it's easy to make decisions when you don't really know what they do.
Also, to suggest that charter schools are succeeding due to these types of decisions by school personell, it doesn't do anyone any good, many times they are succeeding because it's not a completley public school, and they don't always have to teach to every student, just the ones that get into the school. I"m sure most of the charter schools have better discipline reports due to fewer "problem children"

I think charter schools are the answer to public school education. Give parents a choice as to where their children are to be educated. The same choice as Obama's children have. Do you notice that he did not send his children to a public school?
