How is Juanita out of prison already? Does anyone know where she is living? Jimmy Howell was a good old boy as were the others on the list, that I knew. I never could get a firm answer on her involvement in those days.

You should go to the archive room at the Bolivar Library. They would have Bolivar newspapers from that period.

I was friends with his son when it happened. I was 11 at the time. He bet and lost the deed to his Club in Snow White off of Highway 18.

He lost it to Greene I think and he came back shot and killed Greene, tied up the others and burnt the clubhouse down with them in it.

He was a Wife Beating Drunk and he kept his Trailor stockpiled with Guns. Not talking about 5 or 10 but a couple dozen.

He is a real POS and he will rot away behind bars

<quoted text> you now have all the names and the reason.what you dont know is one day before the muders the sheriff in benton county miss caleed the hardeman county sheriff.hicks and asked him to pick harris up ffor questioning has harris was a suspect in a robbery at a similiar club house down there.every rural county has a placr that the ggo ole boys meet and play poker.somrtimes the hands are huge.it was not unusual for there to 15 to 20 thousand on the table a ted greenes club house.scum bag harris and girl frien would float around and find these places then knoc em off,as gambling is illegal who is gonna calll the law and report a robbery at an illegal poker game.someone in miss did.had hicks picked harris up for questionong the murders would not have happened as he would have been in custody.ted greenes father in law wh o was an ex sheriff of hardeman county and state firemarshall at the time his son in law was muredered organized federal officials and took the investigation awy fro sheriff hicks and hardeman county.that is why harris is in fedreal prison.had it been a stat of tenssee case he would have recied the death penalty/last i heard he was in the fedral pen at talledga alabama.he was the dixie mafia at its most evil.google the dixie mafia.
And till the day I die I will believe that Harris was the one that killed Donald Ray Collins. A guy I can't remember his name said he saw Harris run Donald off the road that night. My uncle was at the Boat Dock that night and he said Donald and Dennis got into it and when Donald left Dennis took off after him. It wasnt a year later he killed those men. I will go to my grave thinking he got away with murder that night. He is a real POS

Thanks for the input Duncan. I have been fascinated by this case, but I haven't been able to find out much about it online. You have provided some interesting information.

I also heard that after Donald got ran off the road & died, a gun linked to that murder was found in his possessions & it was turned into the police. I have always been curios about what really happened with all of that.

I read somewhere that when Dennis Harris copped his plea in the hunting club murders that he confessed to the murder of some man some time before the hunting club murders. Maybe it was Donald Ray Collins.

Thanks bboy. I appreciate everyone who has made comments on this post. You have provided me with a lot more information than I could find with years of searching and also provided a lot of personal insight.

Donald Ray Collins was my uncle. Our family has always thought Dennis had something to do with his death though we couldn't prove it.

I am Jessica Howell. My dad was Jimmy Howell. I have often thought about visiting Dennis Harris in prison and telling him just what a piece of shit he is and how much pain he has caused me in my lifetime but I don't think I could even look at him without pouring gasoline on him and burning him to death!!! I am 20 years old now and have a beautiful baby girl and I know my dad would have been very proud of me! Too bad some low life scum had to take him away from me. Last I heard Jammy Adams got 20 years which means he would have gotten out of prison when I turned 20. He was up for parole a couple of years ago but me and my mom sent in a letter telling them not to let him out and he was denied. I don't really know much about anyone else that had anything to do with it but they will ALL get what they deserve in the end.

I'm sorry for your loss, Jessica. I don't know how plea bargains could have been offered in this case and no death penalty invoked. I also don't see how any of them could be out of prison already.

Earlier, I threaded a post that Dennis Harris posted on a prison pen pal website. He is apparently lonely in prison and in need of communication from a pen pal. TOUGH TITTY.

In March of 1992, there was a poker game in a cabin in Hardeman County. A man named Dennis Harris lost big in the game and apparently didn't want to tell his wife about it, so he and his nephew went back to the game, and he shot and killed Ted Greene when he went back in. Then he and his nephew tied up all the other players, took all the money and set the cabin on fire, burning the other five men alive. I think Harris' wife hid the money they stole, which made her an accessory.

Plea bargains kept anybody from getting the death penalty. The wife is out, the nephew is eligible for parole and Harris is doing life without.

Funny I did not even know this happened till 2011 but I have ran into 2 different people that told me about. 1 in Jackson where I live. He said he used to help run it and 1 in Tunica who said he was lucky he wasn't there playing.
