Melissa Ferge is a pathetic excuse of representation for this county's newspaper. She fills the paper up with lies and false information. The only "stories" that pose any type of interest to her are the ones that can be twisted and altered to make the person the story is about look bad. I mean honestly, lets think about it for a second...Why was Bill Irons on the front page for 5 weeks in a row and the bulletin just so happened to not ask Pat Baker for a comment nor did they put him in the paper when he was sworn in???? Why was it such a big deal that Mayor Stevens fired Bill to her??? What concern is it of a "publishers" to find the reasoning behind his termination???? Those are the questions that I would LOVE to ask the owner of the bulletin...BUT for some reason when I ask "who can I speak to about her?" I can never get a straight answer. I have even gone as far as to ask who owns this paper and when I ask her she always tells me " I can't disclose that information" REALLY YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHO YOUR BOSS IS????? She must have something to hide. This is NOT the first time I have had a bad run in with Melissa Ferge I am a business owner and YES I have ran many ads with that paper and EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM HAS HAD VERY OBVIOUS MISTAKES! I have never recieved a discount nor an appolgy from her and SHE SOLD ME THE ADS!! I have been more than fair and this is the type of treatment I get?!?!?! NO I DONT THINK SO!!

Knockout, I know that this is going to make you mad and that isn't my intentions, but by reporting about Bill Iron's wasn't she just doing her job? To have a city employee, ANY city employee, fired so close to retirement brings up a lot of questions in the public. Especially one that is held in an official capacity. A mayor assumes a HUGE task when assuming the job and the public needs to know that his head is in the right place and righftully so, he/she becomes a public figure upon accepting office. Look at Southaven's Mayor Greg Davis, had a reporter been following him closer, he probably wouldn't have been able to misappropriate 170 grand from taxpayers. And I am not by any means making a negative statement about Mayor Steven's. Do I support everything that he does? Not at all, but with the articles I was able to see why a 29 year employee was fired and it was a logical decision. I would have done the same thing had I been in his shoes. Check out Manta's listing of ownership or perhaps the BBB, I doubt if they are accredited though but I hope that this helps.
