The problem is that they have a few facts wrong.

Mr. Smith is NOT a neighbor of the child. His home is 1 1/2 miles away.

The charge was not dropped for the reason that they gave. It was dropped so that he could be charged with the felony.

It will be interesting to see what "proof" they have to show that this was a conspiracy and that he was just being neighborly.

George Smith's Constitutional Rights Smashed

George Smith was issued a ordinance violation of disturbance when he was accused of trying to pick up a neighbor and offering her a ride home. This charge was a bogus charge drummed up by the officers to placate the mother of the girl, whom would have rather seen her girl walk home in the cold with many bags of groceries then have a neighbor drive her. The charge was dropped, as no ill intent to the girl was found. It was a neighbor doing a neighborly thing on a cold day.

The attorney's Kusta and Kusta informed Smith's attorney that charges were dropped and no further charges were awaiting him. They lied. They lied to a trusted associate of theirs.

Furthermore, Ed Kusta Jr., which is the prosecutor against Mr. Smith, is also a Will County Republican and sits on the Will County Elected Board. Some would say his ties are tight with the local Republicans', whom Mr. Smith has been a thorn in the sides of. It would not have taken much for them to contact the States Attorneys and ask for them to press charges against Mr. Smith.

The favors that are abound in many of these politically connected cases can eventually lead to a downfall of an entire political party once exposed. This was a big risk for the local Republicans in office to take against a man that they knew, without a shadow of a doubt, was being neighborly, not a criminal and refer him to the States Attorney for removal on grandeur charges.

George Smith, with the plea of innocent, will go before a judge on April 30th to get the case dismissed. Before then, we will expose the facts:
1. There is no evidence to this case.
2. There was no ill intent on this case
3. The prosecutor lied and allegedly formulated this plan (as asked a favor by another local individual).
4. That we will support George's decision to sue all those involved for defamation and conspiracy in the courts of law.

and much more... Stay tuned to the drama that is your Bolingbrook!

Hurray for George for continuing to stand up for our Constitutional rights. I'm pretty confident that the charges will be dropped and the case will never make it to court. George has been a target of the local Republican party along with a few other good citizens of Bolingbrook, all because they try to better our community.

George is a good, kind and gentle man that will help anyone, under any circumstances; it's just his nature. It's going to cost someone a lot of money for tarnishing his character.

Shame on Bonnie for not bailing him out of jail. He gave $10K to her campaign and this is how she repays him. By letting him sit in jail for 3 weeks. What kind of friend would do that?!

How about Bob The Bull-Dog, Jay Washington, Candice Ward and the rest of them. They report on going to help residents in other states but can't manage to get their old buddy out of a local jail.

Jay bragged on the Patch about donating over $100G annually to good causes and attending charity dinners that cost him $5K a plate and he can't come up with the money to get his friend out?!

If that's how they treat their friends, I'm sure glad that I'm not one of them!

I hope that George learns a few lessons. First, don't try to pick up children that don't know you.

Second, choose your friends more carefully. The ones that you say you helped so much and then turn around and let you sit in jail, probably were just using you.

He does not want to be bailed out. People have offered and he has refused. He has his reasons and I respect his wishes.

Guilt or innocence aside, not my judgement, one thing that is constantly troubling is the characterization of the weather on day of the offense. It seems that the "pro-George" people, in their postings on this site and others, claim that it was a bitterly cold day and there also happened to be snow storm. This claim has been questioned and disproved by others, notably a posting on the Patch that found that was 47.7F at the time of the offense.

If I were to make a decision on whether to believe one side or the other in this discussion, I'd tend question the credibility of those that misrepresent the one thing that can be proven, and that is the weather. Makes me question if their other "facts" are also credible.

Make sure to let the people at Clementine's know so that they can stop collecting from the people there.

I think any money collected would go to his attorney fees. Please keep donating.

Bonnie should give back the $10,000 that he gave her campaign and Jay should have plenty of money to pay any fees that are left. Remember, charity starts at home. He should put up the bail and pay any of the legal fees for his BFF.

Has anyone noticed that Bonnie has not come forward publicly in support of her friend George? She wasted little time giving an interview on the Devon Hodges stalking case, stating that there is no worse of a crime then one against children and that she would jump into a burning car to save the life of a child even if she did not know them. She is showing Bolingbrook her true colors.

There is no real Jay Washington that lives in Bolingbrook, he is another make believe puppet of Bonnies.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Credibility is key and they've made so many statements and accusation that they've never been able to support with facts so in my opinion, everything that they say needs to be questioned.
