Thank you for telling the residents what is happening in town. We are sick of newspapers in town that don't even tell us what is happening in town. We have been blinded for all these years, but now the entire town seems to know the truth.

I am a younger homeowner and mother of two. I speak to a large number of fellow residents per week and they all love your site. We discuss the articles weekly, and I know they discuss it with others as well. We have started a weekly meeting to discuss these issues and find ways to build support to pressure the old administration to change. We hope we can also make a difference, but we wanted to inform you that your not alone.

Thanks for having the audacity to step up against this Village Board and fight for us. Thanks for the energy, time, and money it takes from your own pockets to run this site. Your all angels!

I hope that you verify that what they're printing is actually true before you discuss them at your meetings. They have been known to post inaccurate information on that site as well as their previous site. It was proven false to them but yet they never corrected the mistakes or printed retractions.

Mindy - Did you read the news that Bolingbrook is one of the top 50 places to live in? The bolingbrookreport.com site never misses a chance to repeat the bad news about the town, but never-ever gives credit or reports the good news. Kinda hypocritical don't you think?

Mr. Washington. I assume that you meant to use the words "don't" instead of dont, "you're" instead of your, "heros" instead of heros, "corrupt" instead of currrupt and "administration" instead of admistration.

Now, on to the topic of the thread. The Bolingbrook Report is not telling the truth. You want proof? Here it is. Here is a cut/paste of one of your "reports".

"In the wake of the recent school board scandals, Dr. Carlson is stepping down from the school board and leaving a vacant seat."

Dr. Carlson stepping down from the VVSD School Board had NOTHING to do with a scandal. He stepped down because he was moving out of the area.

Here's another one. "Understanding Bolingbrook has the highest at 10.25% sales tax rate (14% hotels)= Priceless"

According to the State of IL, the sales tax rate in Bolingbrook is NOT 10.25% like you claim. Here is a link to the state web site that will verify that your report is WRONG! https://www.revenue.state.il.us/app/trii/serv...

Maybe the investigators, reporters and proof readers for you organization should be fired for missing this mistake! Then again, maybe they did exactly what you wanted them to do by posting false information. It sure looks better for you to say that the sales tax rate is 10.25% when in fact, it is actually 8.5%

For that matter, the sales tax rate in Oak Brook is actually MORE than it is in Bolingbrook. Here's a link to prove that it's 9.25%

Latest falsehood being reported / insinuated by them -

That Carol Penning and the Board of Directors for The Community Service Council of Northern Will County (CSC) are "double dipping" (getting paid) from same.

The unreported TRUTH is, the CSC is a 501(c)3 non-profit agency dedicated to helping people work through their personal problems by providing a number of different types of counseling, court-ordered evaluations and assessments, and special programs.

What do you have to say about their inaccurate reports? Don't you find it odd that they report outright lies while claiming to be out to find the truth? Which CLEARLY states the Combined General Merchandise Rate is 8.50%
Bolingbrook does have an additional 1.75% tax on Qualifying Food, Drugs and Medical Appliances, which would bring the total sales tax ON THOSE ITEMS ONLY to 10.25%
So, for you all to 'report' that Bolingbrook's Sales Tax is 10.25% is inaccurate and misleading unless you qualify your accusation with the same breakdown I did.
