You got to love the UCC. One if not the most left wing churches there is. Bible, the thing that churches are suppose to hold true says homosex. is a sin. Yes I know there are many gladd people out there who will argue with this, but it is there in black and white. I guess the Bible is just a good story book for the UCC church

Chelmsford We can argue over the validity of the Bible. You are not a believer I am. One of us is right... Time will tell. However, If you are a Christian church, by definition, you go by the Bible. To take the Bible and say well we will pick and choose which part we believe in is like playing a baseball game and enforcing some of the rules. You now have 9 outs per inning that way everyone gets a chance to bat. I know the rules state 3 outs per inning but we will just ignore that one.

So leviticaus is a great passage, unrelated to the act of homosexuality but stil a greate passage. Go w God and go in peace

Hatred is not of God, it's of your own failings, your own fear, your discrimination. Don't blame it on God. Did I deny a homo anything because he/she is gay. No. I simply stated a fact the the Bible is against Homosex. There for any church which describes their belief as Chrisian, and yet supports homosex. goes against the Bible the "support" Nice try aclu.. but once again you and your group try to put labels where th ere are none to be had

I've been a UCC member for 15 years. Our church was founded 152 years ago. In the past 20 years, we have had one gay male pastor, and 2 lesbian pastors. About 1/3 of the church members are openly gay or lesbian. Our church building is 122 years old, and we proudly fly a large Gay Pride Flag from the steeple 24 hours a day, each day of the year. Members of our church march proudly with our church banner in the local gay Pride Parade each year. :) Our church motto is: "As Christians we welcome all. Pull up a seat and grab a beer !" :)

Not sure where you get that a church is against this or that. One thing that we learn is that the Lord Jesus Christ, died for our sins. Regardless of what they are. As long as we reach out to him, our sins will be forgiven.

I prefer to go to one where the Bible is seen as the word not just a good starting point

I feel bad for you people who follow the bible literally. You've never eaten lobster, shrimp, steamers or any other shellfish because the bible condemns it. You've never worn mixed material clothing. All cotton, All wool.....how uncomfortable. You are allowed to own slaves. What kind of religion condones owning another human being? Glad I'm not Christian........as "Hate Liberal Churches" stated a few lines up: "To take the Bible and say well we will pick and choose which part we believe in is like playing a baseball game and enforcing some of the rules." So I guess it's all or nothing with you guyz. I myself love a nice bushell of steamers and steamed lobsters in the summertime. You'll NEVER know what you're missing........

We use "Pastor Laura's Poetry and Home Beermaking Guide". :)

Why do you insist that that phrase s a Christian command or belief ? You guys made it up ! Why do you use a stupid cliche that is not only NOT Christian, but not found anywhere at all in the bible ? Are you on drugs ?!

The Bible's stand is VERY clear on homosexuality. It is an abomination. Let's also be very clear - I believe every single word written in the Bible and I know my Savior loves me and every sinner out there. Even though God forgives our sins if we continue to blatantly sin then we are WRONG. It's useless to argue with people who do not believe. Homosexuals who are PRACTICING their lifestyle do not belong in the role of preacher or teacher. However those homosexuals who vow celibacy are forgiven their sins and are welcomed into the Kingdom of God forever. The right-wing liberals use the Bible for their own purposes. It is very easy to skew facts to prove baseless arguments based on the agenda of the persons pushing their beliefs and ideas. No one need to reply - I'm sure many can argue that I am wrong, however, I know I am not because I read my Bible and believe what it says. We all stand before God at our death - can you afford to be wrong in your belief that homosexuality is a God given blessing? I think not.

It truly is a sad sad thing to see religious bigots trying to hide their very own bigotry behind G-d, the Bible, and Christianity. Furthermore, it does NOT work at all! They are actually quite transparent. Nowhere in the Bible does it state that homosexuality is a sin!
