Does anyone know if there is any type of mail delivery hours? It's now 5 pm and me living less than a mile from the post office has STILL not gotten my mail for the day. I am expecting a package so I know it's not one of those lucky "empty box" days. Everyday the mail comes later and later, we use to get it around 11am now I'm lucky if it's here by 4:30. Is there some sort of end time that they stop delivering mail?
Also, is this a valid complaint to raise to the post office? I hate to be "one of those" but not getting my mail by 5pm in my opinion is not acceptable.

Maybe your street is no longer on a regular route, thus explaining why your delivery time is so much later than it used to be. Postal managers sometimes create routes that are less than 8 hours, so no full-time carrier holds that assignment. The sorting and delivery duties are distributed amongst the available carriers, who usually do their own assignments first to give their own customers a regular delivery time, then they do the extra work at the end of the shift, therefore delivering your stuff much later in the day. And cyber Monday actually started last weekend, so all the extra packages start coming in (you guessed it) TODAY! Just my experience from my office, but I hope the explanation helps.

That is a great idea, your finally starting to think on your feet Brian. Good for you.
I'm sure that the Federal Government is going to love hearing from your reporters over this. Can't wait for you to post what you find out through your FOIA requests with them and how it's somehow tied to Roger or the village.

Its too bad you walk though life with blinders on swigging from a jug of koolaid with an attitude that if it works dont fix it. I applaud the people that have the guts to stand up with solutions to make the village a better place to live.

Thanks, it actually does help explain, but I don't understand how a house that's been here over 40 years-less than a mile from the post office- suddenly becomes "not a regular route". I've had the same mailman for the past 5 years, so maybe it did just get re-routed. Ugh, sucks when you know your outgoing mail isn't going to make it out that day b/c suddenly I'm "not a regular route".
